Science - Disease test Wed.

Math - Students graded 3-6 homework and looked at how to solve equations using multiplication and division, students are to complete problems 3 - 17 odds from lesson 3-7.

Pre-Algebra - Students graded lesson 3-6 and worked on the homework from lesson 3-8.

English -- Today we did holiday fun with "How the Grinch Stole Christmas". No homework.

GEOGRAPHY – Today in Geography we did a menagerie of different things. We started out by finishing up reading Chapter 2 section 4. We watched a short video about El Nino and we read and discussed The Polar Express. They had a little bit of time to work on posters, but they are due Friday, Dec. 19, 2008 by 4:00. No late posters will be accepted. Homework for the rest of the week will be their posters.

English -- Today students reviewed for the compound test. The compound sentence test is tomorrow. Also be reading your AR book. Final book point goal totals have been extended into 3rd quarter due to the hard drive problems. Final book talk day is tomorrow. 3rd period students have a worksheet for homework today and will review tomorrow and test on Wednesday.

Science-Friday's class is in 208. Thursday we did an activity on how epidemics happen.

Math - Students discussed the Order of Operation quiz from yesterday. Many students were able to improve their grades with the retake. We then discussed adding and subtracting integers and assigned homework from lesson 3-3.

Pre-Algebra - Students went over the Skills You Need problems (that was what I didn't finish writing yesterday - sorry), went over the KPS Assessment from yesterday. We then discussed multiplying and dividing decimals and fractions and took the KPS Assessments dealing with them. No homework.

English -- Today students continued writing sentences using simple sentence formulas.
Also don't forget to be reading another book for AR points and your book
talk because those start December 9th.

GEOGRAPHY – Today in class we started on our Section 3 worksheet packet. Due on Friday at the end of the period.

Science- Learned about stem cells, we culminated this lesson by writing up our personal views about stem cells. Wed's class is in 113.

Math - Students took a mult fact quiz and reviewed the Order of Operations. We will be retaking the Order of Operations Quiz Wednesday. If the grade on that quiz is better than the previous O of O quiz, I will replace it. Students were given a worksheet dealing with O of O that is due tomorrow.

Pre-Algebra - Students took the American Mathematics Competition test. Students are to have 3-1 homework done for tomorrow.

English -- Today students took notes over simple sentence formulas. Finish the worksheet for homework. Be reading from an AR book. Also don't forget to be reading another book for your book talk because those start December 9th.

GEOGRAPHY – Today in class we went over Chapter 1 Section 2 notes and watched two short video clips. No homework assigned.

Science- Classified diseases as infectious, genetic, and environmental. Ask your parents/guardians about stem cells. Tuesday's class is in the computer lab 119.

Math - Students wrapped up the Million Calorie Food Drive. We graded 3-2 homework, went over the KPS Assessment 8.5.4 and looked at current grades. We will be retaking the Order of Operations Quiz Wednesday. If the grade on that quiz is better than the previous O of O quiz, I will replace it.

GEOGRAPHY – Today in class students started on an Active-Note-Taking worksheet while reading over Chapter 1. (Students will have an option to re-take the Landform test if they earned an 85% or lower. Students need to come in before school, after school, or during lunch to re-take the test. Final day to re-take the test will be Thursday after school.) No Homework.

Science –Went over the quiz over DNA, we did EXCELLENT! We started the male/female sheet.

Math - Students took a went over Checkpoint 1 & 2. Students were given the rest of the period to work on the Chapter 2 Wrap up problems. It will be due tomorrow. GEOGRAPHY – Today in Geography we went over our tests in class. The students had an option to correct the questions that they got wrong to receive half of the points back, if the corrected answer is correct.

Science –Today we went over the quiz on how materials get into cells and started reading about DNA. Monday we are in 208.

Math - Students went over the lesson 2-5 homework. We then took part of a KPS Assessment dealing with multiplying decimals. Students were given 2 practice worksheets. They need to have one of them done for Monday (front and back). Please check powerschool to see if your student needs to retake a previous KPS Assessment. A score of "0" would indicate that a retake is needed. Birth Announcement Redos will be graded and inputed this weekend.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!! The dance we held Friday night was a huge success. We earned enough money to mount TWO, yes TWO projectors in our team area. Thank you for your support and allowing your student to attend. There were more 7-4 students there than from any other team.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!! The dance we held Friday night was a huge success. We earned enough money to mount TWO, yes TWO projectors in our team area. Thank you for your support and allowing your student to attend. There were more 7-4 students there than from any other team.

Science –Acted out our cell skits. Tuesday's class is in science lab 113.

Math - The Birth Announcement project is DUE TOMORROW. We continued discussing estimation and took a KPS assessment over multiplying decimals. No homework.

Pre-Algebra - The Birth Announcement project is DUE TOMORROW. Students looked at the worksheets from last week and then continued work on plotting points on a coordinate plane. We will have the Chapter 1 test Thursday.

English -- Today we took our test over punctuation. Tonight, use four during-reading strategies while reading your AR book. You need to have half of your points for progress reports by Thursday.

GEOGRAPHY – Today we learned how to apply Cardinal and Intermediate directions using a map of Kearney and Horizon Middle School. Some may have homework tonight if they did not get the worksheet finished in class.
