Math: Students took a multiplication fact quiz and then had time to work on the Are You Ready on page 69.  Complete it for tomorrow if you didn't in class.

Pre-Algebra:  Students went over the test from Chapter 1.  We then went over lesson 2-1, complete the homework for tomorrow.

Science: Students performed a lab using yeast to study cellular respiration.   No homework.

English:  Today we started we learned about demonstrative and interrogative pronouns. The students started a Tic-Tac-Write. As for homework, students need to complete one Tic-Tac-Write entry and do pages 9-10 in their pronoun packets.

Geography:    Lattleship tourney continued today in class.  Students will demonstrate their skills over Lat and Long by playing Lattleship (it's like Battleship).  No homework.

Welcome to the Team 7-4 Daily Blog
Monday,  September 29, 2014

Math: Mr. Sanny talked to each student about their previous MAP scores while the rest of the class either worked on math problems or watched an educational video.  No homework.

Pre-Algebra:  Students maybe went over the test if technology worked correctly.  Students then went over some important concepts from Chapter 2.

Science: Students finished taking notes over cellular respiration.  We also talked about tomorrow's lab and began filling out the lab report.  No homework.

English:  Today we started a short pronouns unit. Students have pages 7 and 8 in their pronoun packet as homework. We will have a short quiz on Thursday over pronouns.

Geography:    Lattleship tourney today in class.  Students will demonstrate their skills over Lat and Long by playing Lattleship (it's like Battleship).  No homework.

Tuesday,  September 23, 2014

Math: Students took a mult fact quiz, graded the worksheet and then took a "SHOW ALL WORK QUIZ over solving equations.  No homework.

Pre-Algebra:  Students went over the homework then worked with a partner on more review problems.  Chapter 1 test tomorrow.

Science: Students finished reviewing for tomorrow's test over osmosis.  We began learning about cellular respiration by taking some notes and watching a BrainPop video.  Use your study guide and be ready for tomorrow's test.

English:  Today wrote in our journals, shared with partners, and critiqued each other's journals. There is no homework just STUDY for our Nouns Test tomorrow.

Geography:    Students reviewed Lat & Long and practiced more using an atlas in class. We then worked on a practice site located on Google Classroom.  Students were asked to work on the practice site at home and study tonight for homework.  Short practice quiz will be WEDNESDAY!! :)

Math: Students took a mult fact quiz, went over the Formative Assessment from Friday.  Students then received a worksheet over solving equations.  It will be due tomorrow.  We will take a paper/pencil "showing all work" quiz over equations tomorrow.

Pre-Algebra:  Students went over lesson 1-10 and then reviewed for a Formative Assessment which will be on Wednesday.  They may have homework.

Science: Students filled out a study guide for Wednesday's test.  We also watched a video and revised last week's lab report.  Study for Wednesday's test.

English:  Today we played a review game over nouns. Students need to study for their test on Wednesday.

Geography:    Students review Lat & Long from Friday and practiced more using an atlas in class.  No homework.  Short practice quiz will be Friday.

Math: Students went over the lesson 1-11 homework, had a quick review for the assessment and then took the Formative Assessment over lessons 1-9 - 1-11.  No homework.

Pre-Algebra:  Students went over lesson 1-9 and jumped into lesson 1-10.  Students may have homework this weekend.

Science: Students finished their lab report on their inquiry osmosis lab.  We also took notes over osmosis and watched a video.  A study guide was handed out and the next test will be Wednesday September 24th.

English:  Today we learned about concrete and abstract nouns. I gave students time to finish their packets and AR read. The nouns packet is due on Wednesday and we have a test over nouns on Wednesday. There should be no homework unless the student is not done with their packet.

Geography:    Students worked on Latitude & Longitude practice.  If they did not get it done in class, it is homework.  Ask your student when they get home tonight if they finished the assignment.     We finished calculating miles, fuel, and hotels and had a competition.  We also started on a new unit Latitude and Longitude.  No homework.  Latitude and Longitude quiz on Wednesday, September 24th.

Pre-Algebra:  Students graded lesson 1-8 and went over lesson 1-9.  Complete the homework for tomorrow.

Science: Students performed their own experiment to further study osmosis.  No homework.

English:  Today talked about irregular plural nouns, collective nouns, and compound nouns. We did some exercises today in class. Students have pg 3 (Compound and Collective Nouns Practice 1) as homework today. Test on Wednesday, September 24th over nouns.

Geography: We finished calculating miles, fuel, and hotels and had a competition.  We also started on a new unit Latitude and Longitude.  No homework.  Latitude and Longitude quiz on Wednesday, September 24th.

Math: Students turned in the homework from lesson 1-10.  We reviewed problems from 1-9 and 1-10 and then looked at problems from 1-11.  No homework.

Pre-Algebra:  Students learned about solving equations in lesson 1-8.  Complete the homework for tomorrow.

Science: Students finished their lab report and learned why the mass of a potato slice changes after soaking in salt water.  Don't forget to bring your lab materials tomorrow if you will be studying something from home -- this does not apply to every student.

English:  Today we reviewed proper and common nouns and began learning about plural and possessive nouns. They have "Locate the Nouns"and Exercise 1 or Pg 6 as homework today. Test on Wednesday, September 24th over nouns.

Geography: Students worked on a mapquest activity planning a trip.  Students will have homework if they are behind.  It is due today! Latitude and Longitude quiz on Wednesday, September 24th.

Math: We went over the FA and lesson 1-9.  Complete the homework from 1-10 for tomorrow.

Pre-Algebra:  Students graded lesson 1-7.  Students then had time to work on the Ready to Go On problems on page 34.   Complete the homework for tomorrow.

Science: Students performed a lab to answer the question: "How will the mass of a potato slice change after soaking in salt water?" No homework.

English:  Today we learned about common and proper nouns by taking notes and playing a game. Students have Pg. 5 and the "Defines the Nouns" page in their nouns packet as homework tonight.

Geography: Students worked on a mapquest activity planning a trip.  Students will have homework if they are behind.  It is due tomorrow at the end of class! Latitude and Longitude quiz on Wednesday, September 24th.

Math: Birth Announcement projects were handed back and grades were updated on the wall.

Pre-Algebra:  Students graded the packet.  We then moved on to lesson 1-7.  Complete the homework for tomorrow.

Science: Students took notes over the scientific method and variables.  We also discussed tomorrow's experiment and filled out part of the lab form.  No homework.

English:  Today we finished our Rikki-Tikki-Tavi movie. We started our nouns unit today by taking notes and doing a "nouns hunt." Students have page 1 to do of their nouns packet as homework. Students in periods 3,7, and 9 have a book and film comparison to finish as homework also for Tuesday.

Geography: Students worked on a mapquest activity planning a trip.  No homework!

Math: We spent 15 minutes reviewing and then students took.

English:  Today we analyzed the conflict in Rikki-TIkki-Tavi through a pair-share activity. We watched the film version of RTT and we'll compare and contrast the film and text on Monday. No homework.

Geography: Students took at test over Parts of a Map unit.  No homework!

Pre-Algebra:  Students graded lesson 1-5 and covered lesson 1-6.  Complete the homework for tomorrow.

Science: Students finished making a plant cell model using yarn and other materials.  Students have a study guide for tomorrow's test.  Study!

English:  Today we finished Rikki-Tikki-Tavi. Students turned in their prediction worksheet and we began working on conflict analysis. No homework.

Geography: Students reviewed with a practice study guide.  We also finished playing a Jeopardy learning game.   Test over Parts of a Map will be Friday 9/12.  Homework is STUDY!!!!

Science: Students began making a plant cell model using yarn and other materials. Students have received a study guide for the next test.  Test Friday.

English:  Today we reviewed and took notes on literary concepts. We started to read "Rikki-Tikki-Tavi" and are doing a predicting worksheet in class. We'll finish the story tomorrow and turn in our predicting worksheet. No homework for tomorrow.

Geography: Students practiced with cardinal and intermediate directions/relative and absolute locations.  Test over Parts of a Map will be Friday 9/12.  Homework is to start studying and getting organized for the test.

English:  Today finished their Narrative Essay and turned in their Narrative Essay packet.

Geography: Students worked on a partner activity answering questions using another students map.  Test over Parts of a Map will be Friday 9/12.  Homework is to start studying and getting organized for the test.

Pre-Algebra:  Students took a mult fact quiz and then reviewed lesson 4-7.  Complete the homework from that lesson for tomorrow.

Science: Students began presenting their Cell Analogy Project. Students have received a study guide for the next test.  Test Friday.

English:  Today we typed our final draft of our Narrative Essay. We will finish these tomorrow. The students need to submit it to me on Tuesday on google classroom and they will turn in their Narrative Essay packet tomorrow.

Geography: Students continued on their Parts of a Map Activity where they created their own map.  Maps are due on Tuesday.  Test over Parts of a Map will be Friday 9/12.  No homework.

Math: We graded lesson 1-4, discussed some of the properties of numbers from 1-5 and then had time to work on problems from the Ready to Go On? problems on page 28.  They were to complete problems 1 - 4 and 6 - 21, if they didn't get done in class, finish it by Monday.

Pre-Algebra:  Students graded lesson 1-4 and then covered 4-7.  Students may or may not have had homework.  Ask them.

Science: Students finished working on their Cell Analogy Project using Google Presentation. Students have been given 3 days to work on this project in class.  Projects are due Monday.

English:  Today we wrote our Narrative Essay rough drafts in class. Most students got it done but if students didn't get it done, they'll need to do it as homework. The packet is due on Tuesday. We will type our final drafts on Monday and Tuesday.

Geography: Students started on their Parts of a Map Activity where they created their own map.  Maps are due on Tuesday.  Test over Parts of a Map will be Friday 9/12.  No homework.

Math: Students took another look at the important websites kids will need this year in math.  We then went over the answers from lesson 1-3 and discussed Order of Operations from lesson 1-4.   Students had some time in class to work on the homework.  Have it completed for tomorrow.

Pre-Algebra:  Students went over the homework from lesson 1-2 and started lesson 1-3.  Have the homework completed for tomorrow.

Science: Students continued working on their Cell Analogy Project using Google Presentation.  This project will be completed in class.  If students use their time wisely they shouldn't have any homework this week.

English:  Today we continued to work on our Narrative Essay packet. We went over steps 4-7. Some students were able to get it done in class and some students have step 6 to do as homework. Their narrative essay packets and final draft is due Tuesday, September 9th.

Geography: Students were introduced to the online textbook and atlas with the chromebooks.  They were given a login and user name.  They also applied what they learned through the Parts of a Map unit.  No homework.

Science: Students learned the function of each part of a cell. No homework.

English:  Today we finished our End Marks packet in class and turned it in. We read "7th Grade" by Gary Soto and analyze some of the plot. No homework.

Geography: Students went over their Continent and Oceans Test and Map.  We then started on the Parts of a Map unit by taking notes.  No homework.
