Science -Lab 113 all week. Continued the genetics evaluation, "Genetics with a smile." Will finish this evaluation Thursday.
Math - Students looked at a pumpkin problem, graded the lesson 3-1 homework and looked at problems from 3-2. No homework tonight.
English - We organized our information about our country on an outline. Finish the outline tonight, so we can start typing tomorrow. Be sure to read 20-30 minutes and complete your 4 reading strategies.

Math - Students took a mult fact quiz, looked at 1st term grades, gave out homework coupons and then were given an Order of Operations worksheet that will be due tomorrow.
English - We practiced being good organizers with our writing and completed several revising activities. Pick a country you want to write about for tomorrow. Be sure to continue your reading every night.

SUPPORT HMS - Eat out at McDonalds (across from Bob’s Superstore) TONIGHT (Oct. 9) night between 4 & 8 pm!! Money from past HMS Nights at Mickey D's has been used to improve landscaping and purchase lights to show off the landscaping at night!

END OF QUARTER IS OCTOBER 18.
SUPPORT HMS - Eat out at McDonalds (across from Bob’s Superstore) TONIGHT (Oct. 9) night between 4 & 8 pm!! Money from past HMS Nights at Mickey D's has been used to improve landscaping and purchase lights to show off the landscaping at night!
Science:Wednesday's class is in room 208. Today we did a DNA fingerprinting activity.
Math: Students studied the metric system and conversion within the metric system. Do "math toolbox" homework.
English - We practiced using correct verb tense. Finish the worksheet for tomorrow. Read for 20 minutes tonight and use all four of our strategies. AR points are due on October 18th -- that is only 1 1/2 weeks away. Test over nouns and verbs on Friday.
GEOGRAPHY: - Read p. 24 - 27 in class. Discussed uses and tools of geography. Homework, analyzing artifacts worksheet (due tomorrow).

SUPPORT HMS - Eat out at McDonalds (across from Bob’s Superstore) next Tuesday (Oct. 9) night between 4 & 8 pm!! Money from past HMS Nights at Mickey D's has been used to improve landscaping and purchase lights to show off the landscaping at night!
Science: Tuesday's class is in room 119. Today we made a model of DNA.
Math: Students organized the KPS Assessments that they have taken, kids were shown their grades and notified if they had zeroes, and students took a multiplication fact quiz. No Homework.
English - We took spelling pre-test 7 and turned in journals to be graded. We took notes over verb tense. Finish the worksheet for tomorrow. Read for 20 minutes tonight and use all four of our strategies. AR points are due on October 18th -- that is only 1 1/2 weeks away.
GEOGRAPHY: - Landform Writing Assignment due Tuesday. Read, discussed and took notes on p. 22 - 25 in the textbook.

Math: Students learned division of decimals, and took the division of decimals assessment. No Homework
English - We took spelling test 6 and quiz over verbs. Read for 20 minutes tonight and use all four of our strategies. AR points are due on October 18th -- that is only 2 weeks away.
GEOGRAPHY: - Landform Quiz, Landform Writing Assignment (2 options) due Tuesday. Current Events!

Math: Students graded the homework from lesson 2-3 and watched a video over decimals. Students took the KPS Assessment over adding and subtracting decimals. Students will take the multiplying decimals assessment tomorrow. If your student needs to make up a previous KPS Assessment (he or she is aware of this), they need to do that by this Friday.
English - We journaled and practiced using our colorful verbs in sentences. We practiced finding and using non-action verbs in a sentence. Finish the worksheet if you need to. Read for 20 minutes tonight and use all four of our strategies. AR points are due on October 18th -- that is only 2 1/2 weeks away.
GEOGRAPHY: - Vocabulary Activity- Students created vocabulary categories and organized landforms into each category.

Science: Wednesday's class is in lab 113. Your October science current event summary is due Wed. Oct. 3rd. Today we set up an activity to show how salt water affects cells.
Math: Students went over problems from lesson 2-4. Complete the problems listed on the orange sheet for homework. Students will take a KPS Assessment over adding and subtracting decimals on Wednesday. If your student needs to make up a previous KPS Assessment (he or she is aware of this), they need to do that by this Friday.
English - We journaled and practiced using our colorful verbs in sentences. We practiced finding and using non-action verbs in a sentence. Finish writing sentences if you need to. Read for 20 minutes tonight and use all four of our strategies. AR points are due on October 18th -- that is only 3 weeks away.
GEOGRAPHY: - Discussed new landforms and students used clay to create the various landforms.
