Math:   Students took a new type of multiplication fact quiz.  We went over Lesson 7-4.  Kids had time to start the Ready to Go On on page 404.  Have it done for tomorrow.

Pre-Algebra:  Students took a new type of multiplication fact quiz.  We then continued discussing the Pythagorean Theorem from lesson 4-8.  Complete the homework from tomorrow.

Geography: Students finished up the Canada Political map.  We also covered Canada vocabulary.  Both maps (North America-50 points and Canada- 25 pts) are due on Friday- 1/24.  Homework:  MAPS!!!

English:  Tuck Everlasting. Read ch. 22-23 and complete the study guide.

Science:  Students filled out their study guide and watched a video over the circulatory system.  Students who turned in a parent permission form had their blood type determined.  Test over the circulatory system Friday.  Study!!!

Math:   Students went over the problems from lesson 7-5 and went over FA 3D.  We then covered lesson 7-4.  Complete the problems from that lesson for  homework.

Pre-Algebra:  Students graded lesson 4-6.  We went over lesson 4-7 and possibly started lesson 4-8.  NO homework.

Geography: Students were introduced to Canada.  We worked on a Canada Political map in class together.  Both maps (North America-50 points and Canada- 25 pts) are due on Friday- 1/24.

English:  Tuck Everlasting. Read ch. 20-21 and complete the study guide.

Science:  Students finished taking notes over the circulatory system and learned how to find their pulse.  Students have received a study guide.  Test over the circulatory system Friday.  Study!!!

Math:   Students went over the Types of Statistical Displays packet, discussed Mean, Median, Mode, Range and Outliers.  We then looked at how to make a Box and Whisker Plot.  Complete problems 1 - 4 from lesson 7-5 for  homework.

Pre-Algebra:  Students graded lessons 4-4 and 4-5 and went over lesson 4-6.  Complete the homework for Monday..

Geography: Students continued on their North America Political and Physical maps.  These maps are due on 1/24-Friday for 50 points.

English:  Tuck Everlasting. Read ch. 18-19 and complete the study guide.

Science:  Students observed a sheep heart in the lab.  A study guide was available for students to take home last Friday -- Circulatory System Test this Friday.  Study!!!

Math:   Students graded lesson 3-1.  We then worked on adding and subtracting as well as multiplying decimals from lessons 3-2 and 3-3.  Complete 10-13, 25-31, 40 from 3-2.  Also do problems 10-13, 17, 20 and 40 from 3-3 for Monday.

Pre-Algebra  Students graded the problems from 12-2.  We then went over lesson 12-3 and had some problems to complete for homework for Monday.  Ask your student what the problems were.

Math:   Students went over the 3-10 and were assigned homework, due Monday.   We went over a couple more examples for the HSS and students had time to work on their packet.  The packet will be due Tuesday.  We will take quizzes over Lessons 3-6 - 3-10 on Monday and Tuesday.  Spend some time reviewing for those.

Math:   Students graded the homework from yesterday.  We then started talking about the Holiday Shopping Spree.  We looked at how to find 10% and how to use it to find other percentages.  Students are to complete the HSS write up for Tuesday.  They received a paper that describes what to do.

Pre-Algebra       Students graded the homework from yesterday.  We then started talking about the Holiday Shopping Spree.  We looked at how to find 10% and how to use it to find other percentages.  Students are to complete the HSS write up for Tuesday.  They received a paper that describes what to do.
 
Geography:  Students worked on our Africa political and physical maps.  Africa Political and Physical MAPS are due 12/13-50pts!!

English:  Students need to finish their Christmas essay rough draft for Monday. Also, the "An American Childhood" packet is due on Tuesday.

Science:  Students finished the contamination lab that we started Wednesday.  Students then filled out a study guide for next Thursday's test.  The due date for the family tree assignment is Monday December 9th.

Math:   Students took a mult fact quiz, graded the homework, went over MAP testing info and discussed lesson 3-8.  Have lesson 3-8 completed for tomorrow.

Pre-Algebra      Students graded lesson 11-2 and went over lesson 11-3.  Complete the homework for tomorrow.
 
Geography:  Students went over the Test today in class.  We then were introduced to Africa and started on our Africa political map.  Africa Political and Physical MAPS are due 12/13-50pts!!

English:  "An American Childhood" story was read in class today. Students need to complete the first vocabulary worksheet in the packet and reading warm-up A for tomorrow.

Math:   Students were given current grade sheets and reminded to turn in any missing work.  We then began discuss fractions and how to estimate with them.  Students were given a new homework sheet that has the problems they are to complete on them.  Have lesson 3-6 completed for tomorrow.

Pre-Algebra      Students went over grades and jumped back in the book with lesson 11-1.  Complete the homework for tomorrow.
 
Geography:  We went over the answers on the study guide and we practiced vocabulary by playing BINGO.  TEST is tomorrow!!!  Homework tonight is to study!!

English: Preposition packet. Pages three due tomorrow. Also, journal #3 in the composition notebook needed to be completed today in class.

Science:  Students took notes over disease and the immune system.  The due date for the family tree assignment is Monday December 9th.

Horizon Middle School students will be hosting a Veterans Day “Freedom Celebration” on Monday, November 11th, 2013.  Veterans and community members are invited to enjoy breakfast and coffee from 7:45-8:45A.M. At 8:45A.M. students will present a Veterans Day program. This program will feature performances by the Horizon band and chorus as well as a Veterans Day address by our guest speaker, Retired General Roma Amundson of the Army National Guard. The students and staff at H.M.S. want to make veterans a special part of this program.  Veterans, military personnel, and family members of soldiers currently on active duty will be recognized and honored at the program. Science:  Students finished filling out their Cell Cycle Vocab Chart.  We also watched a few mitosis animations to help visualize the phases.  Students received a Cell Cycle Practice Test (this will serve as our study guide).  Test next Thursday.

Math:   Students took two multiplication fact quizzes, utilizing a new trick on the second one.  We then graded 12-1 and went over questions.  No new homework, if you didn't finish the 12-1 problems, do them for the next class period.  Keep working on the Vocab Activities for Week 2.  The activities are due Friday.  We will also take the spelling quiz from those words. 

Pre-Algebra     Students worked at stations on problems that will be seen on the assessment in preparation for the Chapter 2 Formative Assessment which is THURSDAY.
 
Geography: Traits of culture collage activity cont.  Homework:  Some students are missing the population assignments and were reminded today.  Quiz over Population and Culture will be Nov 5th, Tuesday.

Math:   Students turned in the Week 1 Vocab Activities, took the spelling quiz and then went over the expectations for the Week 2 Vocab Activities.  Kids have the weekend to get started on them.  The activities are due next Friday.

Pre-Algebra     Students continued with Lesson 2-8. and were assigned homework.    Friday:  Vocab activities are due and we will take a spelling quiz over week 1 words.  Finish your vocab activities and study the spellings of the words.
 
Geography: Population activity on the iPads continued and finish-up.  Students had some time to work on the Population Density worksheet after the iPad activity.  Ask your student if they finished both activities for today.  Have a great weekend.

Math:   Students reviewed how to access Moodle (learn.kps) and the online textbook.    We looked at some Hunger Games statistics and reviewed problems on a notecard.  Complete problems 14-15, 18-20 and 22-24 on page 102 as well as 13-16, 21-26, 29-35 on page 278.  We will be taking a quiz tomorrow over lessons 2-1 - 2-5 and 5-1.  Friday:  Vocab activities are due and we will take a spelling quiz over week 1 words.

Pre-Algebra     Students graded Lesson 2-7 from yesterday and they were assigned problems from Lesson 2-8.  Friday:  Vocab activities are due and we will take a spelling quiz over week 1 words.

Math:   Students were given the Vocab Activities Week 1.  We discussed what needs to be done with the activities.  They are due Friday at the beginning of class.  We will also take a spelling quiz over those words on Friday.  For tomorrow, kids are to complete the B side of the worksheet from last week as well as problems 4 - 6, 14-19, 21, 24, 25, 28 from Lesson 2-5 for tomorrow.

Geography: Climate Zone notes and created a Climate Map.  Students need to study tonight for the short quiz tomorrow (notes and map) over Landforms and Climates. 

English:  Pages 5-6 in the Adjective/Adverb packet (popcorn activity). The packet is due tomorrow! I will not accept the packet after 4:00 p.m. tomorrow.

Science:  Students began a packet to show how DNA is the code for making protein.  We will finish this packet tomorrow in class.  The DNA coloring wksht due today.

Welcome to the Team 7-4 Daily Blog

Math:   Students turned in the AYR?, took a mult fact quiz, had a moment of MAP reflection and then began discussing lesson 2-1.  No homework.

Pre-Algebra     Students took the Chapter 1 Formative Assessment.  No homework.
 
Geography: Students caught up on current events and applied their latitude and longitude skills by playing Lattleship.  No homework and have a great weekend.

English:  Noun packet pages 1-8 due tomorrow.

Science:  Students wrote their lab conclusion.  Two textbooks assignments (Ch 3 crossword puzzle and Ch 3 packet) were due today.  Students can check out a textbook to take home if these assignments haven't been completed.

Math:   Students went over the formative assessments.  Complete all the problems from the Are You Ready on page 69 for tomorrow.

Pre-Algebra     Students reviewed continued reviewing Chapter 1.  The Chapter 1 test is TOMORROW.
 
Geography:Latitude and Longitude Test.  No homework.

English:  Noun packet pages 1-6 due tomorrow.

Science:  Students created a graph to show the effect of sugar on yeast.  Two textbooks assignments (Ch 3 crossword puzzle and Ch 3 packet) are due tomorrow.  Students can check out a textbook to take home.

Math:   Students went over the 1-10/1-11 quiz and then took the formative assessments.  Grades were posted.  NO homework.

Pre-Algebra     Students reviewed continued reviewing Chapter 1.  The Chapter 1 test is Friday.
 
Geography: Gathered papers, notes, and worksheets for the test.  Completed a study guide in class and went over the correct answers.  Students are highly encouraged to STUDY.  The test over Latitude and Longitude is set for TOMORROW= 70 points.

English:  Pronouns is due today. Noun packet pages 1-2 due tomorrow. Also, the Transitive and Intransitive Verbs worksheet is due tomorrow.

Science:  Students conducted a lab testing the effect of sugar on yeast.  Two textbooks assignments (Ch 3 crossword puzzle and Ch 3 packet) are due Friday.

Welcome to the Team 7-4 Daily Blog

Math:   Students graded the homework from lessons 1-9, 1-10 and 1-11.  We then reviewed for the Formative Assessment over lesson 1-9-1-11 which will be Wednesday.  Students were given a pop quiz over solving equations.

Pre-Algebra     Students reviewed solving equations and had problems to do for homework.  Have them completed for tomorrow.
 
Geography: Continued Tilt of the Earth and Seasons notes and discussion.  We also took a pre-test that was not graded, but used as a study practice.  Test over Latitude and Longitude is set for Thursday, October 3rd

English: Pronouns packet needs to be completed today. It is due at the beginning of class on Wednesday.

Science:  Students did an activity to show how many atoms of an element are present in a molecular formula.  We will meet in Lab 112 tomorrow.
