Horizon Middle School students will be hosting a Veterans Day “Freedom Celebration” on Monday, November 11th, 2013.  Veterans and community members are invited to enjoy breakfast and coffee from 7:45-8:45A.M. At 8:45A.M. students will present a Veterans Day program. This program will feature performances by the Horizon band and chorus as well as a Veterans Day address by our guest speaker, Retired General Roma Amundson of the Army National Guard. The students and staff at H.M.S. want to make veterans a special part of this program.  Veterans, military personnel, and family members of soldiers currently on active duty will be recognized and honored at the program. Please contact Horizon Middle School if you are able to attend(698-8120).


Math:   We went over the spelling quiz from week 1 and handed back the Term 1 Week 1 Activities.  If you have not turned in the Vocab Activities, GET THEM DONE!!!  We then reviewed solving multi-step equations.  No homework.

Pre-Algebra     We went over the spelling quiz from week 1 and handed back the Term 1 Week 1 Activities.  If you have not turned in the Vocab Activities, GET THEM DONE!!!  We then went over concepts from lessons 3-1 and 3-2.  No homework.
 
Geography: Culture Sensitivity Videos. Vocabulary-extra credit cards are due Nov 5th.  Homework:  Study notes and vocabulary note cards.  Quiz over Population and Culture will be Nov 5th, Tuesday.  

English:  Catching Fire Unit. Today, we read chapter 11-12 in class. The study guide questions need to be filled out for homework.

Science:  Students modeled the cell cycle using pipe cleaners, string and paper.  Students that finished this assignment early got to use iPads to make an iMovie of the cell cycle.  Students have received a Cell Cycle Practice Test (this will serve as our study guide).  Cell Cycle Test this Thursday.
