Science - Last class day to work on the adaptation evaluations. Thursday's class is in lab 113. Science current event is due Thursday.

Math - Students took a mult fact quiz, went over dividing fractions and mixed numbers. For homework, do problems from lesson 5-6: 1 - 6, 8, 9, 12 - 15 and 24 - 28. We will take the KPS Assessment over this material tomorrow and we will have the week 3 spelling quiz on Friday.

English -- Read first chapter of "Prarie Songs." Half of this quarter's points are due February 8th -- Friday!!

GEOGRAPHY - Discussed natural, renewable and nonrenewable resources. Started reading chapter 3 section 3 in textbook.

Math - Students went over the week 3 spelling words, watched a powerpoint on multiplying fractions and mixed numbers and took a KPS Assessment. We will take another KPS assessment Wednesday over dividing fractions and mixed numbers. NO homework.

English -- Students began building background knowledge for our novel "Prairie Songs". Final copies of descriptive paragraphs were due today. Half of this quarter's points are due February 8th -- Friday!!

Math - Students continued looking at the patterns in Pascal's Triangle. We then reviewed at the divisibility rules of the numbers 2 - 10 and went over lesson 4-5. Complete problems 1 - 6, 8 - 13, 30 - 34 and 38 - 41 for tomorrow. Starting this term, homework assignments are due the next day and will not be accepted late. If a student did not complete the homework by class time, they can come in after school and finish it. Homework assignments will not be accepted after 4 o'clock that day.

THE END OF THE 2ND TERM IS THIS FRIDAY, DECEMBER 21 !!!!

Science -Disease test will be Wednesday. Tuesday we finished the Jeopardy game.

Math - Students went over the graded H.S.S. Packet and looked at their current grades. If students are not satisfied with their grade on the packet they can redo it by Friday and earn up to a 40 out of 45 points. Science -Disease test will be Wednesday. Monday and Tuesday we are doing a Jeopardy review game. I will provide non-mandatory review sessions for the test on Tuesday lunch and Tuesday after school.

Math - Students turned in the H.S.S. Packet with all the shopping items. We looked at some real world math problems. We then attempted to complete the homework for lesson 4-1 in class. If we did not finish this in class, they need to do it at home. Ask your student.

Math - Students went over the rules for the Million Calorie Food Drive which starts Monday. You can bring in items then. GO TEAM SANNY! We continued working with Pawzies and Neggies by journaling. No homework. Students were also reminded to save and bring in store ads that you get in the weekend newspaper. We have a BIG project that we need a lot of ads for.

Students were also reminded to save and bring in store ads that you get in the weekend newspaper. We have a BIG project that we need a lot of ads for. SUPPORT HMS - Eat out at McDonalds (across from Bob’s Superstore) next Tuesday (Oct. 9) night between 4 & 8 pm!! Money from past HMS Nights at Mickey D's has been used to improve landscaping and purchase lights to show off the landscaping at night!

Science: Thursday's class is in room 208. Your October science current event summary needs to be handed in by Friday Oct. 5th. Today we went over the test/ activity to show how salt water affects cells.

Math: Students graded the homework from lesson 2-3 and watched a video over decimals. Students took the KPS Assessment over adding and subtracting decimals. Students will take the multiplying decimals assessment tomorrow. If your student needs to make up a previous KPS Assessment (he or she is aware of this), they need to do that by this Friday.

English - We journaled and practiced using our colorful verbs in sentences. We practiced finding and using non-action verbs in a sentence. Finish the worksheet if you need to. Read for 20 minutes tonight and use all four of our strategies. AR points are due on October 18th -- that is only 2 1/2 weeks away.

GEOGRAPHY: - Vocabulary Activity- Students created vocabulary categories and organized landforms into each category.

Students will take a KPS Assessment over adding and subtracting decimals on Wednesday. If your student needs to make up a previous KPS Assessment (he or she is aware of this), they need to do that by this Friday.

GEOGRAPHY: - Turned survey data into bar graphs and pie charts. Students wrote 5 questions that could be answered with graph and shared projects.
