Welcome to the Team 7-4 Daily Blog
Monday,  November 16, 2015

Math:  Students discussed the Million Calorie Food Drive and then covered lesson 2-10.  Complete the homework and BRING IN FOOD ITEMS!!

Pre-Algebra:   Students went over the homework from 11-3 and then talked about the Million Calorie Food Drive.  We then started 11-4.  No homework, but BRING FOOD ITEMS!!

Science:  Students learned definitions and examples of some Genetics Vocabulary.  No homework.  

English: We worked on writing in different sentence structures. Students were given a study guide and a short worksheet. Our sentence structure test is on Wednesday. All sentence structure worksheets are due on Wednesday. Please study!


7th Period English: We reviewed sentence structure today. Students did some in-class assignments over complex sentences. They also received a study guide for their test on Tuesday. 

Geography:   Today in students took an open note test over Religion, Government, and Economy.  No homework!

Welcome to the Team 7-4 Daily Blog
Friday,  November 13, 2015

Math:  Students graded lesson 2-9 and then talked more about the Million Calorie Food Drive, which begins Monday.  No homework.

Pre-Algebra:   Students talked about the Million Calorie Food Drive, which begins Monday.  We then  went over lesson 11-3.  Complete the problems on the homework sheet.

Science:  Students learned some examples of GMOs (genetically modified organisms).  No homework.  

English: We learned about complex sentences today. There's a short worksheet for homework. Our sentence structure test should be on Wednesday.


7th Period English: We reviewed sentence structure today. Students did some in-class assignments over complex sentences. They also received a study guide for their test on Tuesday. 

Geography:   Today we finished up our economic comparison worksheet.  Test over World Religion, Government, and Economy will be Monday, November 16th.  Homework this week will be to review the notes and work on the study guide practice that is located throughout their notes.

English: We learned about AAAWWUBBIS today. No homework!


Geography:   Today we worked on an economic comparison worksheet.  Test over World Religion, Government, and Economy will be Monday, November 16th.  Homework this week will be to review the notes and work on the study guide practice that is located throughout their notes.

Pre-Algebra:   Students graded 11-1 and went over lesson 11-2.  Complete the problems on the homework sheet.

Science:  Students took a test over DNA.  No homework.  

English: We learned about compound sentences today. Students have a short worksheet to do as homework. Several students finished in class.

Science:  Students played Space Race to review for tomorrow's test.  Use your study guide to prepare for tomorrow's test over DNA.

English: We learned about simple sentences today. Students have a short worksheet to do as homework. Several students finished in class.

Math:  Students went over the FA 2B and took a Kahoot Quiz over the Vocab Terms.  The Week 2 Vocab Activities will be due TOMORROW, November 10, which is when we will take the spelling quiz over the week 2 words.

Pre-Algebra:   Students went over the Chapter 3 FA and took a Kahoot Quiz over the Vocab Terms.  The Week 2 Vocab Activities will be due TOMORROW, November 10, which is when we will take the spelling quiz over the week 2 words.

Science:  Students extracted DNA from a strawberry.  Use your study guide to prepare for Wednesday's (Nov. 11th) test over DNA.

English: We finished writing a letter about Vivien Thomas and watched a short video. No homework.

Science:  Students did an activity to learn how DNA is used to make proteins.  Use your study guide to prepare for Wednesday's (Nov. 11th) test over DNA.

English: We finished our scope article "The Man Who Saved a Thousand Babies." We finished our vocabulary activities. We started writing a letter about Vivien Thomas. No homework.


Geography:   Today we finished-up World Religion and started on the introduction to Government.  No homework.

HAPPY 1,500TH BLOG!!!!  Team 7-4 has been blogging since October 6, 2006!!!  The first 5 people to wish a happy birthday to the blog (tell Mr. Sanny) get SAN MAN DOLLARS!!

Math:  Students graded 12-6, watched a video and then students had a worksheet to practice for the Formative Assessment, which is tomorrow.  The Week 2 Vocab Activities will be due next TUESDAY, November 10, which is when we will take the spelling quiz over the week 2 words.

Pre-Algebra:   Students reviewed for the Formative Assessment.    We will be taking a FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT over chapter 3 on Tomorrow.  Week 2 Vocab Activities will be due next TUESDAY, November 10, which is when we will take the spelling quiz over the week 2 words.

Science:  Students filled out a study guide and began looking at how DNA is used to make proteins.  Use your study guide to prepare for next Wednesday's test over DNA.

English: We finished our RTT compare and contrast in class. We started vocabulary for a non-fiction story in our Scholastic Scope. No homework.

Math:  Students went over lesson 12-5 and practiced how to do problems in lesson 12-6.  Complete the homework for tomorrow.  We will be taking a FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT over lessons 2-5 and 12-1 - 12-6 on THURSDAY.  Week 2 Vocab Activities will be due next TUESDAY, November 10, which is when we will take the spelling quiz over the week 2 words.

Math:  Students took a mult fact quiz, finished going over the Solving Equations Quiz and then covered lesson 12-5.  Complete the homework for tomorrow.  We will be taking a FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT over lessons 2-5 and 12-1 - 12-6 on THURSDAY.  Week 2 Vocab Activities will be due next TUESDAY, November 10, which is when we will take the spelling quiz over the week 2 words.

Pre-Algebra:   Students graded lesson 3-4 and then jumped into 3-5.  There might be homework, ask your student.

Science:  Students took notes over DNA.  No homework.

English: We finished talking about conflict in Rikki-Tikki-Tavi. Students took a short quiz over RTT. Our RTT packets are due tomorrow, but students should have it done because we did most of it in class. 


Geography:   Today students reviewed with a kahoot.  Homework tonight is to study notes! Quiz over Population and Culture is set for Nov 3rd.

Science:  Students continued learning about meiosis and compared and contrasted it with mitosis.  No homework.

English: We finished reading Rikki-Tikki-Tavi in class. We started working on action and linking verbs that are found in Rikki-Tikki. No homework.


Geography:   Today students wrapped up the jigsaw activity from yesterday and we started some discussion questions over our Culture unit. Homework tonight will be to start studying vocab and class notes. Quiz over Population and Culture is set for Nov 3rd.

Math:  Students took the quiz over lessons 2-5, 12-1 - 12-3 and then we started lesson 12-4.  No homework.

Pre-Algebra:   Students had to retake the Week 1 Spelling Quiz (due to a technical issue), went over 3-3 and then jumped into lesson 3-4.  Complete the homework for tomorrow.

Science:  Students took a test over the cell cycle.  No homework.

English:  Students turned in their Adverb/Prepositions packet. We took a short test over adverbs/prepositions. There is a composition notebook check tomorrow. Make sure all notes and assignments are up to date. 


Geography:   Today students continued working on figuring real world population density.  Ask your student if he or she has homework. Quiz over Population and Culture is set for Nov 3rd.

Math:  Students had 20 minutes to work on the RTGO? on page 708:  of which they were to have half of it done over the weekend.  We then went over questions in preparation for the quiz over lessons 2-5, 12-1 - 12-3.  STUDY FOR THE QUIZ!!!

Pre-Algebra:   Students jumped into lesson 3-3.  Complete the homework for tomorrow.

Science:  Students played "Kahoot!" to review for tomorrow's test over the cell cycle.  A practice test has been handed out.  Study for tomorrow's test!

English:  Students finished their homework worksheets and a study guide for their test tomorrow. All five of their adverbs and prepositions worksheets will be due on Tuesday. Please study for your test tomorrow!


Geography:   Today students worked on figuring real world population density.  They will have tomorrow to finish it up.  No homework. Quiz over Population and Culture is set for Nov 3rd.

Math:  Students turned in the Vocab Activities, took a spelling quiz and then went over lesson 12-3.  Kids had some time to start on the RTGO? on page 708:  1 - 7, 10-13, 16, 17, 22, 23, 25, 29.  Have at least half done by Monday.

Pre-Algebra:   Students turned in the Vocab Activities, took a spelling quiz and then discussed lesson 3-2 and jumped into 3-3.  No homework.

Science:  Students used a microscope to view examples of onion mitosis.  A practice test has been handed out.  A test is planned for Tuesday October 27th.  Study!

English:  Students continued learning about prepositions today. There will be a test over adverbs and prepositions on Tuesday. They will receive a study guide on Monday. All of their adverbs and prepositions worksheets will be due on Tuesdays.


Geography:   Today students looked over population demographics using www.prb.org.  They will have tomorrow to finish it up.  No homework. Quiz over Population and Culture is tentatively set for Nov 3rd.

Math:  Students took a practice spelling quiz over this week's words. We then looked at more examples of solving equations.  From lesson12-3, do problems:  1 -3, 5, 6, 9, 11, 12, 21, 23, 25.  Don't forget:  Vocabulary Activities are due Friday.  We will also be taking the spelling quiz over those words on Friday.

English:  Students finished up adverbs. No homework.


Geography:   Today we continued on a new Unit- Population.  We took notes and discussed the concept of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd world countries.  Quiz over Population and Culture is tentatively set for Nov 3rd.

Science:  Students continued working on a cell animation project using iMovie to show how cells reproduce.  One more workday will be given.  Projects are due by 4:00 pm tomorrow.  A practice test has been handed out.  The test is planned for Tuesday October 27th.

Pre-Algebra:   Students were introduced to the Vocabulary Activities.  Kids have the paperwork and were shown what to do and how to do it.  They activities are due on Friday.  Students will take a spelling quiz over the words on Friday.  We then looked at past quizzes/assessments.  No homework.

Science:  Students began working on a cell animation project using iMovie to show how cells reproduce.  A practice test has been handed out.  The test is planned for Tuesday October 27th.  

English:  Students learned about adverbs today. They have a short worksheet about adverbs to do as homework. 


Geography:   Today we started on a new Unit- Population.  We took notes and discussed world population.  Quiz over Population and Culture is tentatively set for Nov 3rd.

Friday,  October 16, 2015

Math:  Students graded the worksheets from yesterday and started 12-1.  No homework.

Pre-Algebra:   Students went over the Chapter 2 Formative Assessment.  No homework.

Science:  Students participated in an activity using pipe cleaners to show what happens when a cell divides.  A practice test has been handed out.  The test is planned for Tuesday October 27th.  

English:  Students read a story on the Joplin tornado. We wrote a short summary. 3rd period had a homework assignment. Otherwise, no homework. 


Geography:   Today we looked over our quiz from yesterday and caught up on news from around the world.

Pre-Algebra:   Students went over the decimals from lesson 2-5 and then continued with Lesson 2-5 dealing with fractions.  Complete the second line of homework for tomorrow.

Science:  Students graphed data from an experiment to answer the question: "Will yeast produce more carbon dioxide if given syrup."  A study guide has been handed out for a test that is planned for Friday of this week.  Continue studying.

English:  Students learned about helping verbs and verb phrases today. No homework!
