Students MAP tested in the afternoon.

Math: Mr. Sanny practiced names again, talked about some important coins and then were shown some birth announcement examples.  The birth announcement will be due next Friday, August 29.

Pre-Algebra:  Mr. Sanny practiced names again, talked about some important coins and then were shown some birth announcement examples.  The birth announcement will be due next Friday, August 29.

Science: On Wednesday students learned how to use a microscope. Today students looked at cheek and onion cells using a microscope. No homework.

English:  Today we learned how to write a journal entry. Students participated in group project to come up with a solution for a problem. No homework.

Geography: Students checked out textbooks, covered books, and worked on a scavenger hunt using the textbook. In the afternoon we MAP tested.  No homework.

Math: Mr. Sanny practiced names and introduced important people in the room.  We checked out books, went over how to log on to the textbook website and students were asked to come up with two true things and one lie about themselves.

Pre-Algebra:  Mr. Sanny practiced names and introduced important people in the room.  We checked out books, went over how to log on to the textbook website and students were asked to come up with two true things and one lie about themselves.

Science: We began discussing the difference between living and non-living things. No homework.

English:  Students reviewed our routines for our classroom. We did a "get to know your classmate" activity. Our only homework is to bring a composition notebook and the Expectations Contract signed by the student and parent by Tuesday.

Geography: We completed a "get to know you activity." No homework.

Math: Students were given a tour of the classroom.  We went over names and some expectations.

Pre-Algebra:  Students were given a tour of the classroom.  We went over names and some expectations.

Science:  Classroom procedures and expectations were discussed. Then students participated in a getting to know you activity.

English:  Students were introduced to our classroom. We went through our expectations and I gave them a expectations contract that the student and a parent needs to sign. The students need a composition notebook to leave in class. Both the contract and the composition notebook are due on Tuesday.

Geography: WELCOME BACK!  Students were introduced to the course and each other!  No homework.

Field trip permission slip forms (pink paper) were handed out to students today.  If they are planning on joining us for the year end "Fun Day" at Harmon Park, they need to have this slip back by Friday, May 16th!!!

Math:
   Students went over the Quad Flow Chart Quiz, talked about a field trip and then watched a couple videos that tie in math.

Geography:  Students took the Final test is Friday- 120 points!!!!  Last day for grades in Geography will be May 16th (TODAY)!!!!  

English:  We watched The Outsiders movie all week. No homework the rest of the school year! 

Science:  Some students presented their Species Project.  Word Wall Crossword Puzzle Packet was due today (Friday).  Late crosswords will be accepted until 3:30 pm Monday.

Geography:   We finished up the final review today.  Students worked on a practice worksheet highlighting skills that could be seen on the test.  They also had time to make notecards over the terms on the study guide.   Final test is Friday- 120 points!!!!  Homework will be STUDY!  Last day for grades in Geography will be May 16th!!!!  

English:  We will watch The Outsiders movie all week. The project was due in class on Tuesday.

Pre-Algebra:   Students took the 8C FA and worked on Sum and Product worksheets.

Geography:   We continued and finished up the final review today.  Students are filling out a study guide in class to use at home to study for the final test.  Final test is Friday!!!!  Homework will be to finish up War Packets, Europe Maps, What I Eat-comparing and contrasting worksheet, and STUDY!  Last day for grades in Geography will be May 16th!!!!  

English:  We will watch The Outsiders movie all week. The project was due in class on Tuesday.

Math:   Students went over what to expect tomorrow and then worked on some extra practice problems from the back of the book which are due tomorrow.  See Mr. Sanny if you missed class.  As students worked on those problems, students went over their MAP scores.

Pre-Algebra:   Students went over the homework and learned about spheres.  Complete the homework for tomorrow.  Students will take a FA tomorrow.

Geography:   We started on our final review today.  Students are filling out a study guide in class to use at home to study for the final test.  Final test is Friday!!!!  Homework will be to finish up War Packets, Europe Maps, What I Eat-comparing and contrasting worksheet, and STUDY!  Last day for grades in Geography will be May 16th!!!!

Geography:   We continued on the unit What I Eat- comparing and contrasting diets/cultures from around the world.  Students used their food logs to complete a comparing and contrasting worksheet.  Homework will be to finish up War Packets, Europe Maps, and comparing and contrasting worksheet.  Last day for grades in Geography will be May 16th!!!!  

English:  Students continued working on their Outsiders final project.  It is due on Tuesday, May 13th.

Science:  Students in 6th, 7th, and 9th periods began working on their species project.  They will have two more class periods to work on this.  Students in 3rd period worked on a word wall crossword puzzle (due Wednesday).  ANNOUNCEMENT: Missing work will not be given any credit after today (Friday May 9th).

Pre-Algebra:   Students took the FA over lessons 8-4 - 8-6.

Geography:   We continued on the unit What I Eat- comparing and contrasting diets/cultures from around the world.  Students need to fill out a One-Day- Food Log to compare with another country's poster.  Homework will be to finish up War Packets, Europe Maps, and Food Log for Friday.  

English:  Students began working on their Outsiders final project.  It is due on Tuesday, May 13th.

Math:   Students took the Quadrilateral Flow Chart Quiz and then the FA over lessons 8-4 - 8-8.  No homework (unless you haven't turned in your packets, get them done and in).

Pre-Algebra:   Students went over the 8-5/8-6 homework and reviewed for the FA which is tomorrow, over lessons 8-4 - 8-6.

Geography:   We started on the unit What I Eat- comparing and contrasting diets/cultures from around the world.  Students need to fill out a One-Day- Food Log to compare with another country's poster.  Homework will be to finish up War Packets and Maps and Food Log.  

English:  Students took the final test over The Outsiders and turned in their study guides.

Science:  Students received directions for our final project - the Species Project.  Students filled out a study guide today in class.  Ecology Test #2 is tomorrow.  ANNOUNCEMENT: Missing work will not be given any credit after this Friday (May 9th).

Math:   Students took a mult fact quiz, turned in the packet and went over what they should have filled in.  We then worked through a powerpoint over lessons 8-4 - 8-8.  There will be an assessment tomorrow over those lessons.  Kids could work on the RTGO? on page 490, 5 - 20.

Pre-Algebra:   Students went over the 8-4 homework and then continued on with 8-5.  Ask you student if they had homework.

Geography:   Students finished up their War Packets today.  I am still missing a few Europe Maps.  Homework will be to finish up War Packets and Maps.  

English:  Students read chapter ten in class today. They need to complete the study guide for homework. They also received a vocabulary worksheet that is due on Thursday. 

Science:  Students peer graded six iMovie projects.  Students received a study guide today.  Ecology Test #2 will be Thursday.  ANNOUNCEMENT: Missing work will not be given any credit after this Friday (May 9th).

STUDENTS TOOK THE LANGUAGE USAGE AND READING MAP TESTS THIS AFTERNOON.
Math:   Students are to have their packets (8-4 - 8-8) completed by the beginning of class tomorrow.

Pre-Algebra:   No class due to MAP testing.

Geography:   Students watched a video about WWII. Homework: If they are behind on their War Packet they can always come in and borrow a War Reading Packet to catch up.

English:  Students read chapter ten in class today. They need to complete the study guide for homework. They also received a vocabulary worksheet that is due on Thursday. 

Science:  Students finished working on an iMovie project or took their language usage and reading MAP tests. If the iMovie is not completed, students can stay after school today to finish. Projects must be ready to be graded by Monday (today) 4:00 pm.

Geography:   We continued on the Europe unit-Political and Physical Maps due today for 50 pts.  We continued the WWI and WWII packets for the Europe unit.    

English:  Students read chapter ten in class today. They need to complete the study guide for homework. They also received a vocabulary worksheet that is due on Thursday. 

Science:  Students finished working on an iMovie project to show what can be done to help the planet. If not completed, students can stay after school today or Monday to finish. Projects must be ready to grade by Monday 4:00 pm.

Math:   Students grade RTGO from page 466.  We then took the FA 8A.  Kids had time in class and are to complete the top section on the front  from the new packet over lesson 8-4.

Pre-Algebra:   Students went over 8-3 and then had time to work on the RTGO over lessons 8-1 - 8-3.  We will have a formative assessment over lessons 8-1 - 8-3 Wednesday.

Geography:   We continued on the Europe unit-Political and Physical Maps due on Friday for 50 pts.  

English:  Students read chapter eight in class today. They need to complete the study guide for homework. They also received a vocabulary worksheet that is due on Thursday. 

Science:  Students played a game called "For the Common Good" to teach us about renewable resources.  Make sure your human population graph and 8 answers (from last week) have been turned in.

Math:   Students graded 8-1 & 8-2, reviewed with a powerpoint and then were to complete problems 1-26 on page 466.  We will have a formative assessment over lessons 8-1 - 8-3 tomorrow.

Pre-Algebra:   Students went over 8-3.  Complete the homework for it tomorrow.  We will have a formative assessment over lessons 8-1 - 8-3 Wednesday.

Geography:  Today we wrapped up on the 7 Wonders with a closure activity and watched a few videos from volunteers.  We then started on the Europe unit-Political and Physical Maps due on Friday for 50 pts.  

English:  Students read chapter seven in class today. They need to complete the study guide for homework. They also received a vocabulary worksheet that is due on Thursday. 

Science:  Students recorded 10 ecology-related facts into their science notebook using websites on Mrs. Eidem's Google Site.  Make sure your human population graph and 8 answers (from last week) have been turned in.

Math:   Students took a GST mult fact quiz, went over 8-1 and students had time to work on the 8-2 and 8-3 sections in the packet.  Finish both for Monday.

Pre-Algebra:   Students graded 8-1 and went over lesson 8-2.  Complete the homework for it tomorrow.

Geography:  We continued to work on an iPad project for one of the 7 Wonders of the World.  This project is due on TODAY, April 25th for 100 points.  Students are more than welcome to work after school if they need it :)

English:  Students read chapter five in class today. They need to complete the study guide for homework. 

Science:  Students learned about the carbon cycle. We also continued watching a video called "6 Degrees that Could Change the World." Make sure your human population graph and 8 questions have been turned in.

Math:   Students graded the AYR?, and went over lesson 8-1.  Students received a packet that they will not receive another copy and are to complete all the activities for lesson 8-1 for tomorrow.

Pre-Algebra:   Students graded the AYR? and went over 8-1.  Complete the homework for it tomorrow.

Geography:  We continued to work on an iPad project for one of the 7 Wonders of the World.  This project is due on Friday, April 25th for 100 points.  Students are more than welcome to work after school all week if they need it :)

Math:   Students took a GST, went over the Ready to Go On problems.  We then reviewed for formative assessment over lessons 5-1-5-3 on Thursday.

Pre-Algebra:   Students went over 7-8 and reviewed for the formative assessment over chapter 7 on Thursday.

Geography:  We went over the correct answers for the study guide.  Students had time to check their answers that they had completed.  We then played a review game.  Homework:  Students need to study their study guide/finish it if it was not finished.  Test over South America will be 4/17-Thursday. If students are going to be out of town for the holiday the test needs to be made up before they leave-Wednesday after school works great!

English:  Students had a quiz today.  No homework.  

Science:  Students participated in an activity about adaptations.  No homework.

Geography:  Today students finished up part II of notes and worked on the study guide in class.  Tomorrow we will run over the answers and play a review game.  Test over South America will be 4/17-Thursday. Geography:  Students took a vocabulary quiz over the 11 words we have studied all week.  They also used their packet to fill out a demographic sheet over the 12 countries and answered critical thinking questions.  This work may be homework so please ask your student if they finished it in class.

Science:  Students participated in a "cougar hunt" to gain some background knowledge about carrying capacity. No Homework.
