Math:   Students took the NeSA nny practice test.  No homework.

Pre-Algebra:    Students took the NeSA nny practice test.  No homework.

Geography:  Students took a vocabulary quiz over the 11 words we have studied all week.  They also used their packet to fill out a demographic sheet over the 12 countries and answered critical thinking questions.  This work may be homework so please ask your student if they finished it in class.

English:  NeSA preparation packet. We finished the packet today in class. The students need to continue to work on their NeSA flashcards. The packet is due on Monday. 

Science:  Students participated in a "cougar hunt" to gain some background knowledge about carrying capacity. No Homework.

Math:   Students heard a story about Mr. Sanny and then worked on Countdown to Testing problems.  Have all problems through Week 16 done for tomorrow.

Pre-Algebra:    Students heard a story about Mr. Sanny and then worked on presenting the rest of the Famous Mathematician slides.

Geography:  Students continued to analyze pictures and took notes over Hungry Planet.  They will need their notes completed (in class) for the activity on Friday.  No homework.

English:  NeSA preparation packet. We finished the packet today in class. The students need to continue to work on their NeSA flashcards. The packet is due on Monday. 

Science:  Students learned how a change in one population impacts the other populations in a food chain. No Homework.

Math:   Students turned in their Vocab Activities and took the spelling quiz over the term 3 words.  We then discussed some math involved with the NCAA basketball tournament and took another Grande Soft Taco.

Geography:  Students finished up on a project called "What's Cooking?" on the computers www.choosemyplate.gov.  They investigated calories and different foods for their age range.  No homework.

Happy Pi Day!!

Math:   Students  turned in their homework from 6-5, talked about Pi day and tied it to the search area of the missing Malaysian plane, went over what to do for the Term 3 Vocabulary Activities and then began presenting their Famous Mathematicians.

Math:   Students took an oral mult fact quiz, went over the FA from Friday and were handed back their Vocab Activities.  We then looked at some problems that involved Dimensional Analysis.

Pre-Algebra:  Students reviewed for the Chapter 6 Formative Assessment, which is tomorrow.

Geography:  Students finished up on their Mexican art projects and had time to work on their Mexican Review worksheet.  Homework:  The review worksheet is due on Wednesday at the beginning of class.  I'm still missing some Mexico maps.

Science:  Students participated in a short term memory challenge.  Students have been offered a study guide.  Nervous system test Thursday.

Math:   Students went over the homework from 4-9 and 4-10. We did a quick review over 4-8 - 4-10 and took the FA 4B.

Pre-Algebra:  Students graded 6-6 and went over lesson 6-7.  Students might have had homework, ask them.

Geography:  Students finished up notes and then we worked on Mexican Art.  Students were also given a worksheet that will serve as their "assessment" for this unit.  It will be due on Monday at 4:00. Maps are due today at 4.  Homework will be to work on the "assessment" and maps if they are not done.

English:  "Two Kinds" vocabulary test. No homework. 

Science:  Students finished the 2-point discrimination activity.  No homework.

Geography:  Students continued on the notes over Mexico.  Homework would be to finish up the Mexico map- due on Friday.

English:  Students read "Two Kinds" in class.  Complete the packet for tomorrow. The final test is tomorrow and the vocabulary test is on Friday over word list b. 

Science:  Students finished the reaction time test and data analysis.  We then started the 2-point discrimination activity.  No homework.

Math:   Students took a mult fact quiz and watched some videos to review proportional reasoning.  No homework.

Pre-Algebra:  Students graded the RTGO? over lessons 6-1 - 6-4.  We then moved on to 6-5.  Complete the homework for tomorrow.

Geography:  We worked on Mexico maps for the first part of class and worked through vocabulary.  Homework would be to finish up the Mexico map- due on Friday.

English:  Students read "Two Kinds" in class.  Complete the vocab sheet for tomorrow.

Geography:  Introduction to Mexico.  Started on political and physical map of Mexico.  Map is due Friday. 

English:  "Ribbons" vocabulary test today.

Math:   Students graded the homework from yesterday, watched a video about a calculator and then started looking at how to use Dimensional Analysis to convert more complicated measurements.  No homework.

Pre-Algebra:  Students graded 6-1 and then went over lesson 6-2.  Ask your student if they have homework.

Geography:  Students participated in a Peer Market Day applying supply and demand strategies learned in class.  Quiz over Supply and Demand will be this Friday.  No homework.

English:  "Ribbons" short story. The students received a packet today in class. They need to have Reading Warm-Up A and Vocabulary Builder finished for tomorrow. 

Science:  Students finished working on a digestive system project.  Students were given a choice of: skit, poster, children's book, or they could come up with their own idea to showcase their knowledge of the digestive system.  Projects were due by 4:00 pm today.  Digestive system test is Friday.

Math:   Students reviewed some more of the customary measurements and practiced converting between them.  We then looked at converting metric measurement. For homework:  Lesson 4-5:  10-18, Lesson 4-6:  5-9, 14 - 17.

Pre-Algebra:  Students went over the FA test from yesterday.  We then jumped into Chapter 6 with lesson  6-1.  Complete the homework for tomorrow.

Geography:  Students reviewed Supply and Demand vocabulary and discussed what affects our economy.  Quiz over Supply and Demand will be this Friday.  No homework.

English:  Watch the Tuck Everlasting movie on Monday and Tuesday. Make sure that you complete the compare/contrast worksheet due on Wednesday.

Geography:  Students went over the worksheet yesterday and started on vocabulary for the unit.  The map is due on Friday for 25 points.  Test over USA is on February 12th.

Science:  Students played Jeopardy to review for tomorrow's test over the Respiratory System.  Many students still need to finish the Respiratory System textbook assignment that was assigned on Tuesday and is due tomorrow.  Use your study guide to prepare for tomorrow's test!

Geography:  Students continued work on a political map over the U.S.A.  Worksheet 1 - 18 was due by the end of class.  *Filling in the capitals is optional.  The map is due on Friday for 25 points.  Test over USA is on February 12th.

English:  Students complete their rough drafts today in class.  If they did not finish, it is homework for tomorrow.

Geography: Students learned about passports and put together a "fake" passport.  Homework:  MAPS- if they are not finished and a 1-4 closure worksheet (orange half sheet) from yesterday!! Test over Canada- 1/31/2014

English:  Descriptive Writing Packet. Steps 1-6 should be finished today in class.

Science:  Students made a model of the respiratory system and filled out a corresponding worksheet.  This worksheet is homework and due tomorrow (if the student didn't finish it during class).

English:  Descriptive Writing Unit. Steps 1-4 need to be completed in the writing packet. Also, there is a "Show, Don't Tell" worksheet that is due tomorrow. It is homework tonight for all students.
