Math:   Students  finished presenting the famous mathematicians and then had time to work on countdown to testing problems or term 3 vocabulary activities.  Be sure to have your Term 3 Vocab activities done by the beginning of class on Friday.

Pre-Algebra:    Students  finished presenting the famous mathematicians and then had time to work on countdown to testing problems or term 3 vocabulary activities.  Be sure to have your Term 3 Vocab activities done by the beginning of class on Friday.

Geography:  Students finished up on a project called "What's Cooking?" on the computers www.choosemyplate.gov.  They investigated calories and different foods for their age range.  No homework.

English:  NeSA preparation packet. The students will be working on this packet for the next several weeks. It is their job during class to complete the packet over the terms that we have covered. We will cover around five terms per day. 


Science:  Students learned the names of 10 bones and 5 muscles in preparation for Friday's test.  Students have received a 3-page study guide packet.  Test Friday.

Happy Pi Day!!

Math:   Students  turned in their homework from 6-5, talked about Pi day and tied it to the search area of the missing Malaysian plane, went over what to do for the Term 3 Vocabulary Activities and then began presenting their Famous Mathematicians.

Geography:  Students showed me what they learned throughout Central America and the Caribbean by taking an assessment.  No homework for the weekend!

Geography:  Students handed in the station activity for Central America and the Caribbean.  We went over the study guide today.  Test over Central America and the Caribbean will be Friday.  Homework:  C.A. and the Caribbean map if it is not finished.  Map HAS TO be completed by tomorrow.

Geography:  Students continued on the station activity for Central America and the Caribbean.  Students were handed a study guide today.  We will go over the study guide tomorrow.  Test over Central America and the Caribbean will be Friday.  Homework:  C.A. and the Caribbean map if it is not finished.

English:  NeSA preparation packet. The students will be working on this packet for the next several weeks. It is their job during class to complete the packet over the terms that we have covered. We will cover around five terms per day. 


Science:  Students learned about the location of the glands of the endocrine system.  Students then used iPads to research the functions of various hormones.  No homework.

Math:   Students took an oral mult fact quiz, went over the FA from Friday and were handed back their Vocab Activities.  We then looked at some problems that involved Dimensional Analysis.

Pre-Algebra:  Students reviewed for the Chapter 6 Formative Assessment, which is tomorrow.

Geography:  Students finished up on their Mexican art projects and had time to work on their Mexican Review worksheet.  Homework:  The review worksheet is due on Wednesday at the beginning of class.  I'm still missing some Mexico maps.

Geography:  Students finished up notes and then we worked on Mexican Art.  Students were also given a worksheet that will serve as their "assessment" for this unit.  It will be due on Monday at 4:00. Maps are due today at 4.  Homework will be to work on the "assessment" and maps if they are not done.

English:  "Two Kinds" vocabulary test. No homework. 

Science:  Students finished the 2-point discrimination activity.  No homework.

Pre-Algebra:  Students graded 6-1 and then went over lesson 6-2.  Ask your student if they have homework.

Geography:  Students participated in a Peer Market Day applying supply and demand strategies learned in class.  Quiz over Supply and Demand will be this Friday.  No homework.

English:  "Ribbons" short story. The students received a packet today in class. They need to have Reading Warm-Up A and Vocabulary Builder finished for tomorrow. 

Science:  Students finished working on a digestive system project.  Students were given a choice of: skit, poster, children's book, or they could come up with their own idea to showcase their knowledge of the digestive system.  Projects were due by 4:00 pm today.  Digestive system test is Friday.

Math:   Students reviewed some more of the customary measurements and practiced converting between them.  We then looked at converting metric measurement. For homework:  Lesson 4-5:  10-18, Lesson 4-6:  5-9, 14 - 17.

Pre-Algebra:  Students went over the FA test from yesterday.  We then jumped into Chapter 6 with lesson  6-1.  Complete the homework for tomorrow.

Geography:  Students reviewed Supply and Demand vocabulary and discussed what affects our economy.  Quiz over Supply and Demand will be this Friday.  No homework.

English:  Watch the Tuck Everlasting movie on Monday and Tuesday. Make sure that you complete the compare/contrast worksheet due on Wednesday. 

Science:  Students continued working on a digestive system project.  Students have been given a choice of: skit, poster, children's book, or they could come up with their own idea to showcase their knowledge of the digestive system.  One more work day will be provided for this project.  Projects are due by 4:00 pm on Wednesday.  Digestive system test is Friday.

Science:  Students began working on a digestive system project.  Students were given a choice of: skit, poster, children's book, or they could come up with their own idea to showcase their knowledge of the digestive system.  Two more work days will be provided for this project.  Projects are due by 4:00 pm on Wednesday.  Digestive system test is Friday.

Math:   Students took an oral mult fact quiz and went over the answers from lesson 4-3.  We then went over examples on how to solve proportions from lesson 4-4.  No homework.  We will have a formative assessment over lesson 4-1 - 4-4 on TUESDAY of next week.

Pre-Algebra:  Students went over lesson 5-5 and jumped into lesson 5-6.  No homework.

Geography:  Students are working through some USA notes.  Maps are due today at 4 for 25 points.  Test over USA is on February 12th.

English:  Students are typing their final draft.  The local writing assessment will be Monday and Tuesday.

Math:   Students graded lesson 4-2.  We then reviewed finding rates and went over lesson 4-3.  Complete the homework from 4-3 for tomorrow.

Pre-Algebra:  Students went over the RTGO over lessons 5-1 - 5-4.  We then started 5-5.  Complete the homework for tomorrow.

Geography:  Students went over the worksheet yesterday and started on vocabulary for the unit.  The map is due on Friday for 25 points.  Test over USA is on February 12th.

English:  Finish your rough draft for tomorrow.

Science:  Students played Jeopardy to review for tomorrow's test over the Respiratory System.  Many students still need to finish the Respiratory System textbook assignment that was assigned on Tuesday and is due tomorrow.  Use your study guide to prepare for tomorrow's test!

Geography:  Students continued work on a political map over the U.S.A.  Worksheet 1 - 18 was due by the end of class.  *Filling in the capitals is optional.  The map is due on Friday for 25 points.  Test over USA is on February 12th.

English:  Students complete their rough drafts today in class.  If they did not finish, it is homework for tomorrow.

Math:   Students took a mult fact quiz and went over the Chapter 7 Formative Assessment and then stuffed folders for our Student-Led Parent Teacher conferences.  We then started making a booklet that we will use to prepare for the end of the year testing.  No homework.  They can be working on their vocab activities which are due Monday.

Geography: Students learned about passports and put together a "fake" passport.  Homework:  MAPS- if they are not finished and a 1-4 closure worksheet (orange half sheet) from yesterday!! Test over Canada- 1/31/2014

English:  Descriptive Writing Packet. Steps 1-6 should be finished today in class.

Science:  Students made a model of the respiratory system and filled out a corresponding worksheet.  This worksheet is homework and due tomorrow (if the student didn't finish it during class).

Math:   Students were handed the Term 2 Vocab Activities.  They are due Monday, Feb 3.  We then reviewed for the Chapter 7, which is tomorrow.  For practice, complete problems 7, 8, 10-12, 14, 16,17, 21, 22 on page 436 for tomorrow.

English:  Descriptive Writing Unit. Steps 1-4 need to be completed in the writing packet. Also, there is a "Show, Don't Tell" worksheet that is due tomorrow. It is homework tonight for all students.

Science:  Students finished taking notes over the Respiratory System.  Students then watched part of a Bill Nye video about the Respiratory System while recording 5 facts into their science notebook.  No homework.

Math:   Students took a new type of multiplication fact quiz.  We went over Lesson 7-4.  Kids had time to start the Ready to Go On on page 404.  Have it done for tomorrow.

Geography: Students finished up the Canada Political map.  We also covered Canada vocabulary.  Both maps (North America-50 points and Canada- 25 pts) are due on Friday- 1/24.  Homework:  MAPS!!!

English:  Tuck Everlasting. Read ch. 22-23 and complete the study guide.

Science:  Students filled out their study guide and watched a video over the circulatory system.  Students who turned in a parent permission form had their blood type determined.  Test over the circulatory system Friday.  Study!!!

Geography: Students continued on their North America Political and Physical maps.  These maps are due on 1/24-Friday for 50 points.

Science:  Students observed a sheep heart in the lab.  A study guide was available for students to take home last Friday -- Circulatory System Test this Friday.  Study!!!

Welcome to the Team 7-4 Daily Blog
Monday,  January 13, 2014

Math:   Students took a mult fact quiz and graded lessons 3-2 & 3-3.  We then worked on dividing decimals from lessons 3-4.   Complete the problems from that lesson for tomorrow.

Pre-Algebra  Students went over questions from lesson 12-3.  We then jumped into Chapter 4 with lesson 4-1.  Complete the homework for tomorrow.
 
Geography: Students continued on Material World with discussion and notes. (Culture Unit-12 families around the world).   No homework.

English:  Tuck Everlasting. Read chapters 9-10.

Science:  Students were given some time to finish their frog dissection packet with their lab group.  Students then took notes over the circulatory system.  Frog dissection packets are due tomorrow.

Math:   Students graded lesson 3-1.  We then worked on adding and subtracting as well as multiplying decimals from lessons 3-2 and 3-3.  Complete 10-13, 25-31, 40 from 3-2.  Also do problems 10-13, 17, 20 and 40 from 3-3 for Monday.

Pre-Algebra  Students graded the problems from 12-2.  We then went over lesson 12-3 and had some problems to complete for homework for Monday.  Ask your student what the problems were.
 
Geography: Students continued on Material World with discussion and notes. (Culture Unit-12 families around the world).   No homework.

English:  Tuck Everlasting. Reading and vocabulary quiz today.

Science:  Final day of frog dissection.  Students made observations of the internal anatomy.  No homework.

Math:   Students were handed back and went over the Holiday Shopping Spree activities (they were turned back in as these will be put into their portfolios for parent-teacher conferences).  We then discussed the 12 Days of Christmas - how many total gifts are given and how much they would cost.  No homework.
