Welcome to the Team 7-4 Daily Blog

Math:   Students graded lesson 9-5.   We then went over lesson 9-6.  Complete problems 1-15 for Monday.

Pre-Algebra:   Students went over lesson 8-6.  We then went over lesson 8-7.  Complete the homework for Tuesday.

Geography: Holocaust activity wrap-up.  Ask you student if they are missing anything for Geography.  I have a few that still need to turn in Europe maps.  Final day for ALL grades are May 20th.  No homework.

English:  The Outsiders. Final reading quiz is today. Monday is the final test over the novel. We will begin watching the movie on Tuesday. The movie incentive permission form is due on Monday with your $6!

Science:  Students worked on their species research project.  We will have 3 additional work days to complete this project.

Math:   Students went over lessons 9-3 and 9-4.   We then went over lesson 9-5.  Complete problems 1-5, 7-11, 13 - 18 for tomorrow.

Pre-Algebra:   Students graded lesson 8-5.  We then went over lesson 8-6.  Complete the homework for Tuesday.

Geography: WWI and WWII cont. We also started on a Holocaust activity.  Ask your students if they turned in their Europe maps=50 points.

English:  The Outsiders. Finish the novel! Friday will be the final reading quiz. It is your responsibility to complete the study guide outside of class!

Science:  We discussed the directions and scoring guide for the species research project.  Make sure you have selected your topic and shared it with Mrs. Eidem.

Math:   Students went over the  Formative Assessment over lessons 8-9 - 8-11.   We then started chapter 9 with lesson 9-2.  Complete the following homework problems from that lesson:  1 - 23, 26.

Pre-Algebra:   Students graded 8-3.  We then went over lesson 8-4.  Complete the homework for Tuesday.

Geography: WWI and WWII cont.  Ask your students if they turned in their Europe maps=50 points.

English:  The Outsiders read chapter 10. It is your responsibility to complete the study guide outside of class! 

Science:  Students graphed and analyzed the data from Friday's lab over bird beak adaptations.  TEST Wednesday!  Study guides were handed out last week.

Math:   Students turned in the Big Math answer sheet and took the two parts of the Assessment over lessons 8-4 - 8-8.  Students are to complete the weeks 16 - 18 and most had time in class to finish it. 

Pre-Algebra:  Students took the FA over chapter 7.  No homework

Geography: What I Eat:  Around the world in 80 diets!  Students were given a person from the unit and are to present information to the class.  We also viewed and sampled a MRE.  I am still missing a few 7 Wonder iMovies.  Ask your student if they have theirs turned in.  They would be able to show you their movie on Moodle.

English:  Quiz over chapters 3-4. The Outsiders chapter 5.  It is your responsibility to complete the study guide outside of class! 

Science:  Students finished watching a video about Global Warming scenarios. Students began working on a project to determine what they can do to help the planet. No homework.

Pre-Algebra:  Students continued reviewing for the FA over chapter 7, which will be tomorrow.

Geography: What I Eat:  Around the world in 80 diets!  Students were given a person from the unit and are to present information to the class.  We will be working on this tomorrow also.  I am still missing a few 7 Wonder iMovies.  Ask your student if they have theirs turned in.  They would be able to show you their movie on Moodle.

Math:   Students took a GST mult fact quiz, went over 8-8 and received THE BIG MATH packet.  Complete all of the 8-8 sections in the packet and at least 10 of the Big Math problems for tomorrow.  We will take the FA over 8-4 - 8-8 on Friday. 

Pre-Algebra:  Students continued reviewing for the FA over chapter 7, which will be either Thursday or Friday.

Science:  Students graphed and analyzed human population growth from 1650 to 2011.  We will finish analyzing the questions tomorrow.  No homework.

Students will be taking the NeSA Reading Test tomorrow during 6th, 7th and 8th periods.

Geography: Finished up notes over chapter 9 with a Pop quiz (students were able to use their notes).  Started the 7 Wonders of the World activity.  Ask your student, or check powerschool, if they have turned in their map for Chapter 9.

English:  Reading passage. NeSA Reading is tomorrow.

Science:  Students graphed and analyzed the population of Kaibab deer that lived in Arizona from 1905 to 1939.  Make sure you have finished all 7 analysis questions.

Geography:  Test over Chapter 8 is today.  We will be moving on to the other countries in South America next.

Science:  Students participated in a "Cougar Hunt" to act out an ecological scenario and determine how many cougars could survive.  No homework.

Geography:  .  Finished notes over section 2.  Pop Quiz over section 2 using their notes.  Homework is to study.  Test over Chapter 8 is Monday, April 8th, 2013

English: NeSA packet. Complete pages two and three for Monday (formal English and Slang). Jeopardy review game, also.  

Science:  Students determined how one change in a food chain effects the other organisms.  Students also practiced putting together the photosynthesis equation.  No homework.

Math:   Students graded the Chapter 5 Review problems, reviewed and took the Chapter 5 Formative Assessment.  Finish your vocab activities for tomorrow, we will also take the spelling quiz over the words.

Pre-Algebra:  Students turned in the Chapter 6 Review problem and took the Chapter 5 Formative Assessment.  Finish your vocab activities for tomorrow, we will also take the spelling quiz over the words.

Geography:  .  Notes over section 2 notes.  No homework.   Test over Chapter 8 is Monday, April 8th, 2013

English: Practice NeSA test today in the computer lab. 

Science:  Students practiced building food chains and food webs using the Internet.  Students also learned about the photosynthesis equation.  No homework.

Math:   Students came up a team name, we reviewed lesson 5-4 and kids worked on some review problems and were assigned problems on page 324:  4-11, 14.

Pre-Algebra:  Students came up with team names, graded 6-7 and reviewed chapter 6.  Complete problems 1- 29 on page 320.

Geography:  Took a "pop" quiz using their notes.  Started sec 2 notes.  No homework.   Test over Chapter 8 is Monday, April 8th, 2013. 

English: Practice NeSA test today in the library.

Science:  Students finished taking notes over food chain/food web vocabulary.  No homework.

English: "My First Free Summer" short story packet. Today, students completed the historical context worksheet and do questions 1 - 9 on page 122 in the textbook.  Test tomorrow on the short story.

Science:  Students tested their short term memory and did a Stroop Test.  We went over the study guide and watched a video called Brain Power.  Test over the Nervous System is Friday.  Use your Study Guide and STUDY!!!

Pre-Algebra:  Students went over lesson 5-8.  We then reviewed for the chapter test formative assessment which will be over chapter 5 and on Friday.

Geography: Test reflection and introduction to Central America and the Caribbean.  No homework. 

English:  "Two Kinds" short story. Finish the story today and plot sequence 4 and 5 in the packet. 

Science:  Students explored some Nervous System web resources on the 7-4 Science Moodle Site and recorded 10 facts about the Nervous System in their science notebook.  No homework.

English: Descriptive Writing. Today, we are writing rough drafts. The kids have the entire period to write their rough draft like they will next week for the writing assessment. If they don't finish, it needs to be completed for tomorrow!

Math:   Students went over the homework and covered lesson 7-10.  Complete problems 1 - 6 and 9 for tomorrow.  The big chapter 7 test will be Thursday. 

Pre-Algebra:  Students reviewed for the Chapter test which will be now on Thursday.

Geography: Study Games over Canada.  They can come in after school and pick up the study games.  There are also TWO moodle practice quizzes available online for extra help.  Homework tonight is to start studying for the Canada test (over notes, maps, vocab, and moodle practice quizzes).  Test over Chapter 5 Canada is Wednesday.

English: Descriptive Writing. Steps 5-7 in the Descriptive Writing Packet are due for tomorrow.  
  
Science:  Students measured their vital capacity and will compare this to others in the class and complete a lab report tomorrow.  Test over the respiratory system Friday.  Study!!

Math:   Students graded the packet and continued in chapter 7 by reviewing populations, samples and what it means to be biased.  We also looked at scatter plots and what type of correlation there might be.  Complete problems 7-8:  5 - 8 and 13.  7-9:  2 - 4, 6 - 11.

Pre-Algebra:  Students graded lesson 4-9 and reviewed for the Chapter test which will be on Wednesday.

Geography:  Went over quiz from Friday.  Started notes over section 2.  Homework tonight is to start studying for the Canada test (over notes, maps, and vocab).  Test over Chapter 5 Canada is Wednesday.

Geography:  Canada Physical and Political Map work. We will have a little bit of time on Monday.  No homework.

English: Read Tuck Everlasting. Final Quiz over Tuck Everlasting. On Monday, we will take the final test. Parent permission forms for the movie that we will watch on Tuesday and Wednesday are due on Monday by 4:00. If the student does not have a signed form, they cannot watch the movie. Study guides are also due on Monday.

Geography:  Our final day of Hungry Planet.  The student picked a country of their choice to compare to the 12 we studied in the HP unit.  No homework.  We will be moving on to Canada next.

Math:   Students graded the homework from yesterday and reviewed how to add, subtract, multiply and divide by doing story problems.  Complete the worksheets for tomorrow..

Pre-Algebra:  Students graded lesson 11-2 and began lesson 11-3.  Complete the homework from that lesson for tomorrow. 

Geography:  Hungry Planet Unit-Begin families/notes.   No homework.

English: Read Tuck Everlasting. Complete ch. 5 and the study guide questions. You need to keep up on your study guide. It will be graded every Friday for completion. There is a quiz on Friday.
  
Science:  Students participated in day #1 of frog dissection.  We observed and named some external anatomical structures.  No Homework.

Math:   Students graded the homework from yesterday and reviewed how to multiply and divide.

Pre-Algebra:  Students reviewed lesson 11-1 and began lesson 11-2.  Complete the homework from that lesson for tomorrow. 

Geography:   Starting our Hungry Planet Unit-Comparing and Contrasting families and what they eat.  We worked on the food pyramid, "What's Cooking" wrap up and discussion questions.  No homework.

English: Read Tuck Everlasting. Complete ch. 3-4 and the study guide questions. You need to keep up on your study guide. It will be graded every Friday for completion. There is a quiz on Friday.
  
Science:  Students finished presenting disease research projects and worked on an in-class textbook assignment.  No Homework.

Math:   Students took a multiplication fact quiz, went over some story problem from the Countdown to Testing.  Students then reviewed how to add and subtract fractions and are to complete problems 5 - 13 on page 198.

Pre-Algebra:  Students began chapter 11 by looking over lesson 11-1.  Complete the homework from that lesson for tomorrow. 

Geography:   Starting our Hungry Planet Unit-Comparing and Contrasting families and what they eat.  We worked on the food pyramid, "What's Cooking".  No homework.
