Math: Students went over their homework from lesson 1-5. Students discussed and were given the paperwork for the Birth Announcement Project. No due date has been set yet, but students are to gather information. The "math part" will be taught during class over the next few class periods. Students started working on 1-6 and are to get as much done as possible. Time will be given tomorrow to finish them in class.
Pre-Algebra: Students graded their 1-4 homework. Students were then given the Birth Announcement Project paperwork and discussed what was involved with that. No homework.
Science: Finished and shared our results to the testable question experiments. Started learning what it takes to be considered living.
English: Reviewed for the Noun and Pronoun test tomorrow. We completed the study guide in class.
Geography: Worksheet activities over Parts of a Map and Map Scale. No homework.

Geography: Today we finished up our study maps and we took class time to study for the test. Test is tomorrow! Homework tonight is to study for the test. Students have all material to study for the test.

Science: Continued the mystery activity, Monday's class is in the media center.
English: We checked out textbooks, completed a Tic-Tac-Toe writing activity, and reviewed class expectations by playing Jeopardy. The only homework over the weekend is to read AR books. Have a wonderful weekend!
Geography: Today we took a Pre-test over locating continents and oceans (wasn't graded). We also went over some geography related current events. No homework and have a great weekend.

Math: Students went over more introductions of important people in the classroom and discussed their 2 truths and 1 fib. No homework.
Science: Biological box activity to work with observations and inferences. We also started to learn how to write testable questions.
English: Students were introduced to the Accelerated Reader Program. Students checked out their first AR book today--encourage reading! Return English survey tomorrow.
Geography: Students completed a Biography for Geography activity and some classes started on their Self-Flags assignment. No homework.

Math - Students went over how to graph 2 variable equations and watched a video that reviewed fractions.
Pre-Algebra - Students went over more sine, cosine and tangent and worked on another worksheet.
English - Today students wrote a paragraph recommending the book or the movie. It was collected at the end of class. Students can come in after school to finish if they didn't get done. Book points are due on Monday, May 18th.
GEOGRAPHY - Handed in textbooks and reviewed the states and capital by playing a game!!!

Science-Nervous System Research Articles, check with Mr.Sughroue when you return.
Math - Students were given a set of worksheets and are to finish all activities in the rock band packet. Both are due tomorrow. Students were given the entire class period to work on these, so there shouldn't be too much homework.
Pre-Algebra - Students were given a wkst packet to complete for tomorrow. They had the entire class period to complete them, so hopefully they won't have much homework.

GEOGRAPHY - Today we studied for the test; played White Board Challenger. Test over Chapter 7 is Thursday, May 14th. Homework tonight is to study for the TEST tomorrow. I recommend taking home your textbook tonight. Students can come in tonight and get a copy of all the questions from the White Board Challenger.

Math - Students assessed 6-4. Grade based on completion. Started naming all the polygons. Filled out a notes sheet that helps us remember the names of the different polygons. Focused on the Quadrilateral and the different classifications, also on the worksheet. Assigned 7-6 for Monday. We will have a quiz on Monday.

Math - Students checked 6-10 Homework. Discussed the homework and discussed proportions and the rate of change. Assigned 6-11 bookwork (pg 278, #1-10 & 21-28).
Pre-Algebra - Students went over the checkpoint 2. We then discussed lesson 7-8 and worked on the homework
English -- Today we watched a video on the 60's as an intro to "The Outsiders" unit. We also began reading about the author and will finish it on Monday. Read 30 minutes every night so you don't fall behind in your AR.
GEOGRAPHY - Worked on Culture Fair presentations today. We will work on them all week. Friday March 27th is the last day students will have class time to work on their presentation. We will begin presenting the presentations on March 30th. Students are recommended to purchase a presentation board (Hobby Lobby, any color, I think they are on sale as far as I know), but they are able to work on a powerpoint; which ever works for them. **Students have signed up for days to present starting March 30th. They are expected to be there for their presentation time.**

Math - Students went over 6-7 assignment. Reviewed Fraction to Decimal to Percents. Discussed 6-9 in finding missing information from a fraction to a percent. Assigned a worksheet.
Pre-Algebra - Students graded the 7-6 homework. We then went over lesson 7-7 and assigned homework from that lesson.
English -- Today we finished reading "Ribbons". Complete the packet tonight. We will have time tomorrow to finish the plot line in class. A quiz over "Ribbons" will be tomorrow. Read 30 minutes every night so you don't fall behind in your AR.

Science - Lab 113 all week. Today we started the blood donating activity. Make sure you take your RESTING pulse rate for 1 minute by Friday.
Math - Students continued discussing converting between customary measurements. We will continue Thurs and take a quiz on Friday. For homework, complete the following problems from 5-8, page 220: 1 - 4, 14 - 26, 3 - 35 for tomorrow.
Pre-Algebra - Students went over 6-3 and were worked on problems.
English -- Today we started reading "Rikki Tikki Tavi" with our during reading strategies. We will continue reading the story in class tomorrow. Be reading your AR book because points are due in 7 days.
GEOGRAPHY - Today in Geography we studied vocabulary and political/physical maps and we had notes over chapter 5 section 1. Homework for the entire week is to study and review political/physical maps and vocabulary for section 1. Quiz over maps and vocabulary will be Friday.

Math - Students reviewed how to multiply fractions and mixed numbers and took a KPS Assessment. No homework.
Pre-Algebra - Students went over the homework and then continued Customary Measurement Conversions. Complete the homework assigned in class.
English -- Today students finished writing a descriptive writing describing
a friend. What ever is done is what will be graded. There will be no late work accepted.

Science-Finished our animal adaptations. Monday's class is in 208.
Math - Students went over the KPS Assessment and then stuffed folders and previewed what they need to do for conferences.
Pre-Algebra - Students organized KPS Assessments, stuffed folders and previewed what they need to do for conferences.

STUDENT-LED PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES ARE NEXT WEEK, FEBRUARY 9, 10, AND 12. WE SENT PAPERWORK HOME MONDAY FOR YOU TO SCHEDULE YOUR CONFERENCE TIME. WE WILL SCHEDULE TIME SLOTS ON A FIRST COME FIRST SERVED BASIS. STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO COME WITH YOU AND DISCUSS HIS/HER LEARNING.
Science-Finished the frog dissection. Friday's class is in 113.
Math - Students went over the worksheet. We took the KPS Assessment over converting between fractions, decimals and percentages.
Pre-Algebra - Students prepared for and took a multiplying & dividing decimals KPS Assessment.

Pre-Algebra - Students went over the problems from 5-9 and prepared and took an adding and subtracting decimals KPS Assessment.
English -- Today students finished reading Tuck Everlasting. Finish your study guide for chapters 22-epilogue so you can hand it in tomorrow. Be sure you are reading in your AR book. Total points will be due March 5th.
