Science -Brain observations. Science current event summaries are due Wed.
Math - Students took a mult fact quiz, reviewed integers and were given worksheets to complete for tomorrow.
Pre-Algebra - Students reviewed slope-intercept form, reviewed graphing on the coordinate plane and took a KPS Assessment.
English - Today students listened to chapters 11-12. There was a few pages to finish, so be sure you do that and write your thought-provoking questions for tomorrow's discussion. Book talks started today, so be ready to present on the day you are scheduled.
GEOGRAPHY - Today in Geography we studied for chapter 6 by playing Jeopardy. Jeopardy Powerpoints are on Moodle. Chapter 6 test is Tuesday 5/5/09!!! Homework for tonight is to study all material from Chapter 6.

Science - The digestive system test was Friday.
Math - Students celebrated Mr. Z's last day by watching math videos.
Pre-Algebra - Students celebrated Mr. Z's last day by watching math videos.
English - Today students did the vocab for chapters 10-12 and read chapter 10 and 11. We will finish the book and take the test next week. Book talks also start next week, so be ready to present.
GEOGRAPHY - Read Section 3 and did a guided reading worksheet. Mexico test is set for Tuesday of next week- May 5th- Cinco de Mayo! The students have the study guide with them, but the study guide is also on Moodle.

English - Today students continued reading "The Outsiders". We also took a quiz over chapters 7-9. We will also be discussing chapters 7-9 on Thursday, so be writing your questions and summaries. Late work will not be accepted.

Science -Finished the notes. Study for the digestive system test by taking the Moodle quiz and reading over the notes and activities we have done.
Math - Graded 6-3 assignment. Introduced odds and did homework in class, and graded it at the end of class. The assignment was a Math Toolbox on page 406, #'s 1-6. No homework for those in class today.
Pre-Algebra - Reviewed domains and functions. Talked about having multiple variables and solving those equations with ordered pairs.

Science - Nutritional worksheet activity. No homework.
Math - Reviewed perimeter KPS assessment from Wednesday. This week we will spend Tuesday & Wednesday on Area with a KPS assessment Wednesday and on Thursday & Friday we will go over circumference, with a KPS assessment Friday. No assignment for the weekend.
Pre-Algebra - On Friday, we reviewed surface area and took the KPS assessment over it. KPS assessments can. No homework.
English - Students were instructed on how to take the state reading test on Monday and Tuesday next week.

Science - Nutritional worksheet activity. No homework.
Math - Reviewed perimeter KPS assessment from Wednesday. This week we will spend Tuesday & Wednesday on Area with a KPS assessment Wednesday and on Thursday & Friday we will go over circumference, with a KPS assessment Friday. No assignment for the weekend.
Pre-Algebra - On Friday, we reviewed surface area and took the KPS assessment over it. KPS assessments can. No homework.
English - Students were instructed on how to take the state reading test on Monday and Tuesday next week.
GEOGRAPHY - Quiz over vocabulary section 1 and test over the physical features of Mexico. No homework and have a great weekend!

Science - Food labels activity.
Math - Reviewed perimeter KPS assessment from Wednesday. This week we will spend Tuesday & Wednesday on Area with a KPS assessment Wednesday and on Thursday & Friday we will go over circumference, with a KPS assessment Friday. Assigned a worksheet to be completed.
Pre-Algebra - We will be taking 3 KPS assessments this week. Wednesday will be on Circumference, Thursday will be on surface area, and Friday will be over Volume. No homework.
English - Outsiders: In class the students chose 5 vocabulary words and used each in a sentence for their journal assignment. We then listened to chapter 6. Homework is to read their AR books.
GEOGRAPHY - Studied vocabulary chapter 6 section 1 pages 190-195. Studied physical map. Notes over Chapter 6 section 1-taken for a grade. Test over vocab sec 1 and physical map on Friday! Homework tonight is to study vocabulary sec 1 and physical map.

Science- Students met in the computer lab 119. Monday we will be back in 113.
Math - Students assessed 6-4. Grade based on completion. Started naming all the polygons. Filled out a notes sheet that helps us remember the names of the different polygons. Focused on the Quadrilateral and the different classifications, also on the worksheet. Assigned 7-6 for Monday. We will have a quiz on Monday.
Pre-Algebra - Students went over the KPS Assessment over converting measurements. We spent a little more time discussing percent of a number and took a KPS Assessments. No homework.
English -- Today students had their panel discussion for chapters 1 and 2. Be sure to continue reading your blue dot book so you don't fall behind with your points.
GEOGRAPHY - Culture Fair presentations all week. **Students have signed up for days/times to present starting March 30th. They are expected to be there for their presentation time.**

Science-We did an activity to learn more about respiration and fermentation. Friday's class is in the computer lab 119. Monday we will be back in 113.
Math - Students graded 7-3 homework. Discussed Congruent triangles and pulling out congruent angles and congruent line segments (7-5). Solved word problems by drawing them out. 7-4 as homework for Friday.

Science- Started the lung capacity lab. Will continue this activity on Wednesday. Science current event summary articles are due April 1st, THIS IS NOT AN APRIL FOOL'S JOKE.
Math - Students went over 7-1 homework, discussed Burger King deals and went over and assigned homework from 7-2.
Pre-Algebra - Students went over the quiz and went over KPS Assessments. No homework.
English -- Today we read chapter 1. Finish reading if you need to and complete the character chart. Vocab quiz will be on Monday. Homework is to finish the vocab page. We will begin reading tomorrow. Read 30 minutes every night so you don't fall behind in your AR.
GEOGRAPHY - Culture Fair presentations all week. **Students have signed up for days/times to present starting March 30th. They are expected to be there for their presentation time.**

Science- Did an activity that taught us about homeostasis-the ability's ability to maintain a stable internal environment. Science current event summary articles are due April 1st, THIS IS NOT AN APRIL FOOL'S JOKE.
Math - Students checked 6-11 Homework. Assessed the homework and turned it in. Introduced Chapter 7, Geometry. Worked on recognizing patterns. Assigned 7-1 bookwork (pg 288, #1-3 & 6).

English -- Today we began our "Outsiders" unit. Chapters 1-2 vocab was assigned. Vocab quiz will be on Monday. Homework is to finish the vocab page. We will begin reading tomorrow. Read 30 minutes every night so you don't fall behind in your AR.

English -- Today we watched a video on the 60's as an intro to "The Outsiders" unit. We also began reading about the author and will finish it on Monday. Read 30 minutes every night so you don't fall behind in your AR.
GEOGRAPHY - Worked on Culture Fair presentations today. We will work on them all week. Friday March 27th is the last day students will have class time to work on their presentation. We will begin presenting the presentations on March 30th. Students are recommended to purchase a presentation board (Hobby Lobby, any color, I think they are on sale as far as I know), but they are able to work on a powerpoint; which ever works for them. **Students have signed up for days to present starting March 30th. Math - Students went over 6-7 assignment. Reviewed Fraction to Decimal to Percents. Discussed 6-9 in finding missing information from a fraction to a percent. Assigned a worksheet.
Pre-Algebra - Students graded the 7-6 homework. We then went over lesson 7-7 and assigned homework from that lesson.
English -- Today we finished reading "Ribbons". Complete the packet tonight. We will have time tomorrow to finish the plot line in class. A quiz over "Ribbons" will be tomorrow. Read 30 minutes every night so you don't fall behind in your AR.

Math - Students took a mult fact quiz, went over the quiz from last Friday and then discussed lesson 6-5 and were assigned the homework from that lesson.
Pre-Algebra - Students went over the homework from 7-5. For homework - students worked on the Standardized Test Prep on page 354 and were also to complete problems 27, 28 and 30 on page 358.
English -- Today we finished our writing assessment. It is time to start working on AR points for 4th term. Read 30 minutes every night so you don't fall behind.

Science - Lab 113 all week. Monday we went over the circulatory system readings and blood typing activity that we will do Tuesday.
Math - Students worked on lesson 5-7 in class. Problems 1 - 4, 6 - 8, 11 is due tomorrow.
Pre-Algebra - Students had a quick review and took a quiz over Customary Measurement Conversions. No homework.
English -- Today finished taking notes on the short story unit and worked on vocab. Have the vocab done for tomorrow.
GEOGRAPHY - Today in Geography we studied vocabulary and political/physical maps and we read Chapter 5 section 1 page 156. Homework for the entire week is to study and review political/physical map and vocabulary for section 1.

Science-Finished the frog dissection. Friday's class is in 113.
Math - Students went over the worksheet. We took the KPS Assessment over converting between fractions, decimals and percentages.
Pre-Algebra - Students prepared for and took a multiplying & dividing decimals KPS Assessment.
English -- Today students began their final project for Tuck Everlasting. If you did not turn in your 22-Epilogue study guide, I will take it until Monday. Be sure you are reading in your AR book. Total points will be due March 5th.
GEOGRAPHY – Today in Geography we read section 4 and completed a Guided Reading worksheet. Test for Chapter 3 is Wednesday, February 11th. No homework.

Science-Continued the frog dissection. Thursday's class is in 113.
Math - Students graded lesson 4-8, discussed lesson 4-9 and were given a worksheet for tomorrow. We will be taking a KPS Assessment tomorrow.
Pre-Algebra - Students went over the problems from 5-9 and prepared and took an adding and subtracting decimals KPS Assessment.
English -- Today students finished reading Tuck Everlasting. Finish your study guide for chapters 22-epilogue so you can hand it in tomorrow. Be sure you are reading in your AR book. Total points will be due March 5th.

English -- Today students took their vocab quiz and went over the new vocab for this week. Continue reading in your AR book. Half of your goal is due February 2nd (that is today).

English -- Today we continued a writing about our favorite place. This is an in class activity, so there will not be homework. What's done in class is what goes in the grade book. Continue reading in your AR book. Half of your goal is due February 2nd.

Science-Today we did external observations of animals. Wednesday's class is in Lab 113.
Math - Students reviewed the divisibility rules and discussed prime factorizations. Complete the lesson 4-5 homework for tomorrow.
Pre-Algebra - Students looked at lesson 5-4 and were assigned homework. We will take a KPS Assessment over the material tomorrow.
English -- Today we continued a writing about our favorite place. This is an in class activity, so there will not be homework. What's done in class is what goes in the grade book. Continue reading in your AR book. Half of your goal is due February 2nd.
GEOGRAPHY – Today in Geography students took their vocab sec 2 quiz, finished sec 2 notes, and were assigned sec. 2 review questions worksheet. Homework is to finish review questions for class tomorrow.

Math - Students discussed the week 4 spelling words, stuffed folders for STUDENT-LED PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES and discussed divisibility rules. No homework.
Pre-Algebra - Students continued Lesson 5-3. We took a KPS Assessment over adding and subtracting fractions and (since this is written before the actual class) hopefully talked about mult and div fractions/mixed numbers.

Science - Thingamajigs identification key activity. Thursday's class is in 119.
Math - Students went over the worksheet worksheet from yesterday. Students then took the quiz over lessons 4-1 - 4-4 and turned in the word search. Apparently I never gave period 7 the word search, so they will get it and it will be due Friday. Spelling quiz, week 3 Friday.
Pre-Algebra - Students went over 5-1. We then covered 5-2. Hmwk due tomorrow.
English -- Today the students read chapters 10-12. Finish reading if you need to tonight and answer questions 6 - 11.

Science -Classification notes.
Math - Students graded lesson 4-4. We then reviewed lessons 4-1 - 4-3 and gave the students a worksheet to complete for tomorrow. The word search is due tomorrow and we will have a quiz Tomorrow over lessons 4-1 - 4-4 tomorrow.
Pre-Algebra - Students went over the skills you need and then we covered 5-1. Hmwk due tomorrow.
English -- Today the students read chapters 7-9. They also worked on their study guide while listening to the story. If we didn't finish reading the chapters in class, finish them at home tonight so you are ready to read chapter 10 in class tomorrow. Also be reading your blue dot book as AR points continued into 3rd quarter.
GEOGRAPHY – Today in Geography we tried to catch about 15 minutes of the Presidential Inauguration. We also looked/discussed the agenda for the Presidential Inauguration and discussed the list of the other 43 presidents; touched on historical facts. No Homework.

Math - Students went over current grades, looked at week 3 words (quiz on Fri) and covered lesson 4-4. Complete the 4-4 homework for tomorrow.
Pre-Algebra - Students over the KPS Assessment over exponents and scientific notation. We then started Chapter 5 with lesson 5-1, the homework is due tomorrow.
English -- Today the students took a quiz over chapters 1-6 vocab. They began working on the chapter 7-15 vocab. They need to have that worksheet done for tomorrow. Also be reading your blue dot book as AR points continued into 3rd quarter.

Science -Finished the disease scavenger hunt and started getting the background over classification.
Math - Students discussed lessons 4-1 and 4-2 and were assigned problems from lesson 4-2. Homework will be due tomorrow.

Science -Continued planning our consumer experiments, we will do these on Friday.
Math - Students went over the week 2 spelling words and all students who scored below a 19 out of 21 on the quiz retook the equations quiz. No Homework.
Pre-Algebra - Students went over Lesson 4-5. We then covered 4-6. Students need to complete the homework problems for tomorrow.
English -- Today the students checked out Tuck Everlasting. They were assigned the chapter 1-6 vocab for homework. We will begin reading the book tomorrow. Also be reading as AR points continued into 3rd quarter.
GEOGRAPHY – Today in Geography we reviewed our vocabulary, finished up Country Selection Worksheet (Culture Fair), and finished on Chapter 3 Sec 1 notes. I sent home a note explaining the Culture Fair for students to take home to parents. Homework is to find information about their country to make sure there is enough information before we begin the Culture Fair.

Science -Students decided which consumer experiment they want to participate in. Disease scavenger hunt was also done in class. Your science current event summary is due Wednesday.
Math - Students went over the week 1 spelling quiz and reviewed the solving equations quiz. Students will be able to retake the quiz tomorrow.
Pre-Algebra - Students went over Lesson 4-4. We then covered 4-5. Students need to complete the homework problems for tomorrow.
English -- Today the students typed the final copy of their writing. Final copies are due at the end of class today. If it wasn't turned in, homework is to finish it at home and turn it in asap. Our overall topic is to describe a terrifying experience or the best day ever. Also be reading as AR points continued into 3rd quarter.

Science -Disease report research. Monday's class is in 113.
Math - Students took the Week 1 Spelling Quiz (we will have spelling quizzes the next 3 Fridays). We went over the homework and then took the quiz over solving equations. No homework.
Pre-Algebra - Students graded Lesson 4-3. We then covered 4-4 and time was given in class to complete it.
English -- Today the students edited and revised their writing. Some were even able to begin their final copy. Final copies are due at the end of class on Monday, so homework over the weekend is to finish revising so the period on Monday can be used to type the final copy. Our overall topic is to describe a terrifying experience or the best day ever.

Math - Students graded the homework, reviewed the spelling words and learned how to solve two-step equations and were assigned problems from lesson 3-9. They will be due tomorrow.
Pre-Algebra - Students graded Lesson 4-2. We then covered 4-3. Complete the homework for tomorrow.
English -- Today the students completed their prewriting and began their rough draft. By tomorrow they need to have their rough draft ready to revise in class. Our overall topic is to describe a terrifying experience or the best day ever.

Math - Students reviewed how to solve equations and were assigned the Checkpoint 2 problems on page 129. They will be due tomorrow.
Pre-Algebra - Students graded Lesson 4-1. We then covered 4-2 & 4-3. Complete the homework for tomorrow.
English -- Today the students created their definition of voice. We are writing this week. By tomorrow they need to have a topic selected and at least 3 creative leads done. Our overall topic is to describe a terrifying experience or the best day ever.
GEOGRAPHY – Today in Geography we started on Section 1 vocabulary- define and quick sketch. Climate Posters are due no later than Thursday at 4:00. No Homework.

Science -Disease background game. Your homework is to choose a disease that you would like to learn more about. Wed's class is in computer lab 119.
Math - Students took a mult fact quiz and went over Mathtastical Words which will be on spelling quizzes over the next four Fridays. Each student received a yellow sheet that has all four sets of spelling words that will be quizzed. We also reviewed how to solve equations. No homework.
Pre-Algebra - Students worked on Lesson 4-1. Complete the homework for tomorrow.
English -- Today the students listened to a multicultural book talk and checked out a new book to read for 3rd quarter. There is no homework tonight.
GEOGRAPHY – Today in Geography we finished up the Geo-Bee, talked about Climate Posters (due as soon as possible), discussed ideas about the Culture Fair, and briefly previewed Chapter 3-Section 1. No Homework.
