Science- We will be in lab 113 Tuesday and Wednesday. Went over the answers to the chart reading activity to try and figure out how the people got food poisoning. December science current is due Tuesday 19th. Vaccine skits were planned today and we will do these skits Tuesday. KPS DISEASE TEST IS THURSDAY-received the written review for this test today.

Math- Students had one last day to work on the project. The final packet (project) will be due Tomorrow.

Science-Friday's class is in Media center. Today we learned about genetically modified organisms. CURRENT EVENTS ARE DUE TUESDAY NOVEMBER 21ST.

Math- Students counted calories for the million calorie food drive and discussed integers / absolute value and inequalities. Grades were given to the students two days ago. Zeroes need to be taken care of by next Tuesday.

Science- The science current events were turned in today. Today we made a model of DNA.

Math- Students took a mult fact quiz, went over the KPS Assessment and then reviewed and took the KPS Assessment over estimating decimal addition. No homework.

English - In class students journaled and took spelling test #6. We also worked with infinitives and prepositions. Tonight, be sure to read for 15 minutes and complete the 4 reading strategies. Our noun/verb unit test will be next Wednesday.

GEOGRAPHY: Discussed uses for geography and tools for learning about ancient peoples. *Due Monday- artifact activity & bring a paper grocery sack to cover book.

Reading- Students continued the Read for Real curriculum. See your teacher for what your class covered.

Science- The science current events are due this Friday. Today we took a pretest over DNA and started to read about DNA.

Math- Students took a mult fact quiz, went over the tiz and then reviewed and took the KPS Assessment over estimating fraction addition and subtraction. No homework.

English - In class students journaled and worked on verb tense. Tonight, be sure to read for 15 minutes and complete the 4 reading strategies. Also underline the verbs in the paragraph I wrote. Our noun/verb unit test will be next Wednesday.

GEOGRAPHY: Discussed physical and human geography. Read p. 22 -25 in the textbook. *Monday bring a paper grocery sack to cover book.

Science-Went over the cell test today. Also learned how to read and write up science current events. The science current events are due this Friday.

Math- Students worked on a worksheet in class dealing with estimation of decimals then started looking at estimating fractions. We will take a KPS Assessment over fraction estimation tomorrow .

English - In class students journaled and took the colorful verb quiz. Grade sheets were also handed out. Tonight, be sure to read for 15 minutes and complete the 4 reading strategies. Our noun/verb unit test will be next Wednesday.

GEOGRAPHY: Completed "Music City" project. If not completed, students need to stay after school or take project home to finish.

Science-Cell test was today.

Math- Students graded lesson 2-1 and then practiced estimating adding and subtracting with decimals and then took an KPS assessment over it.

English - In class students reviewed our colorful verb vocabulary with dry erase boards. The colorful verb quiz is Wednesday. We reviewed main verbs and helping verbs on a worksheet and took notes over verb tense. Tonight, be sure to read for 15 minutes and complete the 4 reading strategies. Finish your verb tense worksheet.

GEOGRAPHY: Worked on "Music City" project.

Science-Cell test is Tuesday. Today we reviewed and watched a cell video.

Math- Students went over information from lesson 2-1: problems 2 - 6, 8, 10, 11, 12 - 22 evens, 25 - 34 on page 52.

English - In class students spelling pre-test #6. We reviewed our colorful verb vocabulary with dry erase boards. The colorful verb quiz is Wednesday. Science-Cell test is Tuesday. Today we reviewed the gelatin experiment that taught us the reasons that cells are so small. Started the cell review today.

Math- Students made up any worked that they needed while others learned and played the dice game Farkle.

Science- Tomorrow's activity is in lab 113. Today we did a salt water activity with potatoes that taught us about osmosis.
Math- Students went over lessons 1-7 and 1-8 and did the problem solving practice on page 35. We will have a test on Thursday over chapter 1.

English - In class students journaled and shared their colorful verb definitions with their group. We also began making the verbs into pictowords for the wordwall. Tonight, be sure to read for 15 minutes and complete the 4 reading strategies.

GEOGRAPHY: Students took info from survey and put it on a bar graph (rough draft). For homework, student must make a final draft of bar graph, and write 5 questions that can be answered by the bar graph.

Science-Learned why salt water dehydrates you. Thursday's class is in lab 113.

Math- Checkpoint 2 p. 38: #1, 3, 4, 5; Wrap Up p. 44-45: 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8; Assessment p. 46: 2, 4, 5, 7, 8 (problems were due at end of period)

English - In class students finished the pictowords for our verb word wall and had independent reading time. Be sure to read for 15 minutes and complete the 4 reading strategies if you didn't do it in class today.

GEOGRAPHY: Students reviewed for quiz on Thursday. Students presented graph project and aswered questions.
