Math:   Students took a mult fact quiz, went over 3-6 and reviewed how to add/subtract fractions and mixed numbers.  For homework:  3-7:  15-24,   3-8:  14-22.   Work on your Vocab Activities.

Science:  Students made a fictitious child based on some genetic concepts we have been studying.  Genetics test next Tuesday.  Study guides were handed out in class today.

Science:  Students watched a video about genes and heredity.  We then started an activity demonstrating how facial phenotypes are determined.  No homework.

Geography:   Chapter 3- Population Density practice and critical thinking questions.  Homework:  Ask your student if they are missing their Chapter 2 Vocabulary.  Some students didn't complete the homework that was assigned so they will make up a little learning with me after school-Ask your student.

English: Review for the preposition test tomorrow.   

Science:
  We reviewed the classroom activity that showed a father determines the gender of a baby, not the mother.  Students were introduced to a Punnett Square and probability in genetics.

All HMS, SMS, and KCHS 6th, 7th, and 8th graders are invited to Middle School Mania this Saturday, November 10th from 6:30-9.  Activities include basketball, volleyball, ping pong, board games, karaoke, face painting, bingo, and more!  $5 admission—snacks, pizza, and baked goods also for sale.  Please join us!  (All school rules apply.)


Math:   Students discussed the Million Calorie Food Drive, which starts Monday and then began discussing how to convert between Fraction, Decimals and Percents.

Pre-Algebra: Students reviewed important terms from yesterday and discussed the Million Calorie Food Drive, which begins Monday.

Geography:   Chapter 3 Culture.  What If?  Activity and classroom discussion about culture.  Climate Zone Posters are DUE on FRIDAY by 4pm. Homework: Sections 1-4 Vocabulary due on Friday by 4pm.

English:  Type essays in the computer lab. The essays are due at the end of the day on Friday!

Science:
  Students participated in an activity using 2 decks of cards showing the phases of the cell cycle (including mitosis).  Students should be studying their vocab chart in preparation for our next test which will be Tuesday of next week.

Math:   Students discussed aspects from lessons 2-6, 2-7 and 2-8:  2-6: 21-24, 29-35,  2-7: 1 - 7,  2-8:  7-12, 14, 15 for tomrrow.

Pre-Algebra:  Students started discussing 3-1 and had homework from it.


Geography:   Today we went over Chapter 2 Section 4 notes. We also reviewed Sections 1 and 2 for the QUIZ TOMORROW. Climate Zone Posters are DUE on FRIDAY by 4pm. Homework: Sections 1-4 Vocabulary due on Friday by 4pm.

English:  Rough draft work day. Students must have rough draft ready to type for TOMORROW!

Science:  Students reviewed their vocabulary chart pictures.  Students then did a Compass Learning activity over Mitosis or got on the "7-4 Science" moodle page on 'learn.kps'.  No homework.

Pre-Algebra: Students watched Crashbox and solved a variety of math and English type problems.  NO homework.

Geography:   Started working on questions for Climate Zone Posters. Homework: Section 1 and 2 Vocabulary.

English:  Computer lab. Type bibliography for expository paper.  

Science:  Students made cheese in the science lab to demonstrate how proteins can work.  In this case the protein was an enzyme that broke up the milk into curds and whey.  DNA is the code for making protein!
