THE END OF THE 2ND TERM IS THIS FRIDAY, DECEMBER 21 !!!!

Science -Disease test will be Wednesday. Tuesday we finished the Jeopardy game.

Math - Students went over the graded H.S.S. Packet and looked at their current grades. If students are not satisfied with their grade on the packet they can redo it by Friday and earn up to a 40 out of 45 points. Students work through some more real world math problems then we discussed info from lesson 4-2 and assigned problems 1 - 12 for homework.

English -- In class, students compared and contrasted two poems and practiced writing their own poem. AR points are due December 20th.

GEOGRAPHY - Reviewed for test tomorrow, climate projects due tomorrow.

Science -Disease test will be Wednesday. Monday and Tuesday we are doing a Jeopardy review game. I will provide non-mandatory review sessions for the test on Tuesday lunch and Tuesday after school.

Math - Students turned in the H.S.S. Packet with all the shopping items. We looked at some real world math problems. We then attempted to complete the homework for lesson 4-1 in class. If we did not finish this in class, they need to do it at home. Ask your student.

English -- In class, students journaled and took a quiz over simple sentence formulas. AR points are due December 20th.

Science -Finished the antibody activity, that explained the reasons we get some diseases only once and some diseases over and over. Also we went over the bacteria experiment.

Math - Students took a mult fact quiz and continued working on the Holiday Shopping Spree Project. Students are to be completing the yellow "teaching percentages" sheet at home. It will be due TOMORROW (some have turned it in already!). The H.S.S. Write up is due Friday. The H.S.S. Packet with all the shopping items will be due Monday, the 17th.

English -- In class, students took the quiz over using subjects and verbs correctly and had AR reading time.

Science - Did an antibody activity, that explained the reasons we get some diseases only once and some diseases over and over.

Math - Students continued with the Holiday Shopping Spree Project by starting their "write up." Students were given a sheet that had the instructions and grading rubric. It is due Friday.. Students are to be completing the yellow "teaching percentages" sheet to complete at home. It will be due this Wednesday.

English -- In class, students journaled and practiced finding compound subjects and compound verbs. There is a quiz tomorrow over using subjects and verbs correctly.

Math - Students decorated holiday ornaments with a mathematical "rule." Students continued with the Holiday Shopping Spree Project by starting their shopping. Students are to be completing the yellow "teaching percentages" sheet to complete at home. It will be due next Wednesday.

SUPPORT HMS - Eat out at McDonalds (across from Bob’s Superstore) TONIGHT (Oct. 9) night between 4 & 8 pm!! Money from past HMS Nights at Mickey D's has been used to improve landscaping and purchase lights to show off the landscaping at night!

Math: Students graded the homework from lesson 2-3 and watched a video over decimals. Students took the KPS Assessment over adding and subtracting decimals. Students will take the multiplying decimals assessment tomorrow. If your student needs to make up a previous KPS Assessment (he or she is aware of this), they need to do that by this Friday.

Science: Today we took notes on qualities of living things. Come in and get these notes. Thursday and Friday's class is in science lab 113. Your first science current event is due, Wed. September 5th.
Math - Began chapter 1 on Data and Statistics. Discussed frequency tables, line plots, bar graphs, histograms, and line graphs. Do pg. 6 #1,2,5-7, 9,11, 12, and p. 10 #2-9, 13. Don't forget the Birth Announcement project will be due Friday, Aug 31 at the beginning of class.

English - We journaled and practiced making nouns plural. Tonight, complete two of our four reading strategies while reading 20-30 minutes.

GEOGRAPHY: In class- finding road distance and air distance using a Nebraska map. Homework- finding distance using scale on a map of the US.

Science: Today we went over the summative evaluation (test) on how to do scientific inquiry.Also we finished learning how to do a science current event summary. Your first science current event is due, Wed. September 5th. Wed's class is in 208.

Math - Students went on the field trip to a Haunted House to help remember how to head the homework assignments and then took a multiplication fact quiz. Don't forget the project will be due Friday, Aug 31 at the beginning of class.

Science: Today we did the summative evaluation (test) on how to do scientific inquiry.Will need to make this up as soon as possible!! Tuesday's class is in the media center presentation area.

Math - Students went over the "math" calculations needed for the Birth Announcement project The project will be due Friday, Aug 31 at the beginning of class. We then looked at a few multiple choice problems. Tomorrow is our "field trip." Wear comfy shoes.

Science: Today we found out the answer to the mystery activity. Monday's class is in the media center presentation area.

Math - Students went over the homework and then introduced the Birth Announcement Project. We will be going over how to do the "math" calculations on Monday. The project will be due Friday, Aug 31 at the beginning of class.

Science - Today we did the taste test experiment, Thursday's class is in lab 113, Friday's class is in computer lab 114. Your body system's project now needs to be completed on your own time and then come in and get your project graded by Mr. Sughroue.

Math - Students took a mult fact quiz, turned in the rapid math trick notes and looked at the Pythagorean Theorem. Don't forget the Spelling Quiz, week 3 will be on Friday.

English - Students formed an opinion on a topic and gave details supporting that opinion. The writing is due on Friday.

Science - Thursday's class is in 119. Today we learned different ways living things adapt their behavior to stay alive. Friday you will have a quiz over the concepts we reviewed today. REVIEW THE ORANGE SHEET!!
