Science- Completed the plastic bag activity that taught us about diffusion. Come in and go over this with me.

Math
- Students took a mult fact quiz, students retook 8.5.4 and and played the game Chips Ahoy. No homework.

English - In class students journaled and worked on editing and revising their narrative writing on a personal experience that taught them something. A final copy is due on Monday. Be sure to read over the long, 4 day weekend.

GEOGRAPHY: Students worked in large and small group settings to analyze charts and graphs. For homework students must decide on a question to ask for their survey.

Reading- Students continued the Read for Real curriculum. See your teacher for what your class covered.

Science- Cell models are due Wednesday. Class Wednesday is in Lab 113.

Math
- Students took a mult fact quiz, went over lesson 8.5.4 and looked at some story problems. No homework.

English - In class students journaled and began writing their rough draft for their narrative writing on a personal experience that taught you something. Bring a completed rough draft to class on Wednesday.

GEOGRAPHY: Students split into small groups and developed skits for geography vocabulary words. Students then used an atlas to answer questions about "special purpose maps."

Reading- Students continued the Read for Real curriculum. See your teacher for what your class covered.

Science- Wednesday's class is in 113. Today we finished presenting our skits. The skits are showing our understanding of the cell parts and their functions. We introduced and got started on our next project, "Cell analogies". This project will further our understanding of the cell part and function.

Math
- Students turned in the Movie Rental project and went over the lesson 1-4 information. We then prepared for KPS assessment. We will meet in the computer lab the next 3 days.

English - Students journaled, finished working with prepositions, and started with pronouns. Finish the pronoun worksheet and be sure to read 15 minutes in your blue dot book and complete your reading strategies tonight.

GEOGRAPHY: Students played "Lattleship" to practice using latitude, longitude and directions. Homework: Africa latitude and longitude sheet.

- Students turned in lesson 1-3 and took a mult fact quiz. We then took notes over lesson 1-4. Students were given a Movie Rental Packet which is a "project" due next Tuesday. Birth Announcement Project redos are due Monday.

English - Students journaled, took a spelling test, and took notes over the 5th way to locate a noun. Find 5 locations on the Kearney map and say where you are by using prepositional phrases. Be sure to read 15 minutes in your blue dot book and complete your reading strategies tonight.

Science- Thursday's class is in the media center. Today we viewed a web site: www.cellsalive.com we used this site to diagram animal and plant cells.

Math
- Students got back their project. If they would like to redo the project they can. It will be due Monday the 11th. We then graded 1-1 and went over lesson 1-2 and assigned problems from that lesson.

English - Students took a quiz over common/proper and plural/possessive nouns. Be sure to read 15 minutes in your blue dot book and complete your reading strategies tonight.

GEOGRAPHY: Students practiced finding locations on map using latitude and longitude. Students worked in both small and large group settings. ***There will be a geography vocabulary quiz on Friday.

Science- Wednesday's class is in 113. Today's activity was finishing using the microscopes to compare/contrast plant and animal cells and start watching a cell video.

Math
- Students took a mult fact quiz and graphed their results. We then covered lesson 1-1 from the book. Students are to complete problems 1,2,5-7, 9,11,12,14-17 on page 6.

English - Students took spelling pre-test #3 and received a review sheet for Wednesday's quiz over common/proper and plural/possessive nouns.

GEOGRAPHY: Students sketched pictures and wrote descriptions of geographical vocabulary words. Completed a partial grid system (latitude and longitude).
